Is ther any ranma fans out there?
Yes.
Next time, try making a thread that will not be over in two posts.
Hello :)
a question...
the american release of the manga by viz is only 36 vols long
did they remove something or just made the vols a little bigger...not liekly...
what was removed...
>>4
I'm not a fan of the manga, but a quick search told me it's more likely that some scene was cut off due to violence or nudity, though I don't know America is strict on such things..
> just made the vols a little bigger
Yes. Viz have shuffled chapters around, so the books end in different places.
Japanese vol. 1-4 = English vol. 1-3
Japanese vol. 5-18 = English vol. 4-16
Japanese vol. 19 = English vol. 17 (and so on.)
I'm not aware of anything missing. Perhaps they were trying to avoid the cliffhanger broken-story-arc endings.
Love the manga but found the anime a bit annoying for it's cornyness,
I liked it but stopped at volume 17. The martial arts battles were starting to be less funny even though they kept getting more ridiculous.
as i see it season1 or the first 18 episodes are the only episodes worth watching from the whole animated series
after s1 the artstyle just keeps getting worse(not to mention the horrible style of the oav/ovas) and there is too much shitty filler eps
Season 1 is definitely the best. Animation quality drops in season 2 but I wouldn't say it gets worse and worse. Seemed pretty consistent through all the other seasons. I thought season 6 managed to rise a bit above the rest when it came to story. As for the OVAs the style changed every few episodes. Some of the OVA looked good but most did disappoint me a bit. The movies were really nice, though it was disconcerting to have my pecker twitch at the sight of female Ranma's well-animated breasts.
I want to get into this but I never have the time or money..I wish I could because I always hear about it everywhere I go.
You could just read it in the bookstore. (though it depends how much time you have.ยด~`; heh heh )
(A bit of a spoiler ahead)
The stories just get even more whack after vol.17 but the final volume disappointed me a lot. The story seemed rushed like the artist wanted to just finish the series quickly though i'm not gonna spoil it completely.
I can't really keep up with long things like Ranma, such things tend to get pretty repetetive and predictable in the end. Plus I just don't have the patience, heh.
The series was fine until very close to the end. I also felt like the last parts of the manga were rushed. I had to read it over and over again
