Awesome netlabel.

Their stuff is lobit, or encoded at low bitrates (20 kbps) on purpose. Originally it was a reaction against MP3 "bitrate elitists", apparently, but now it's just awesome, it is amazing how 20kbps music can have such a propensity to bring the house down.

Lakritze EP by Denner, among their first releases, is one of my favorites, especially the beat that starts the first track, which is insane. Right now I'm also digging the new C4 - Sprite EP and Mystified - Elemental Dub quite a bit.

Of course, I'm nowhere near halfway through listening to their catalogue. If you check it out, which ones do you like?

Viral, and having low bitrates to try to show up 'bitrate elitists' =! cool.

Probably the same people that listen to vinyl because it has a 'warmer sound'.

Lol, I wish some one would fucking decapitate mp3 already.

320kbs sounds ok, but it fucking takes up much more room than it has to.

Nero AAC actually sounds really great at 320kbps, also VORBIS takes less space and is patent free.

Great new lobit release: c4 - Compression on Proc-Records (http://proc-records.net/ or http://proc-records.net/upload_music/%5Bproc042%5Dc4_-_compression.zip)

It's kind of acid-house, and comparable in quality to the Sprite EP. The sound is so good I forgot it was lobit for a minute.

Also, in case you folks missed it, 20kbps released like several dozen things over the Christmas season.
