Torrent that shit!

Me: Tons of great unreleased music by friends, internet friends, and people on IRC. The music market is underserved; most publishable manuscripts are getting printed as books, but easily 10 times as much excellent music could be released as what actually is.

I can't name anything that you would have heard of, though, unless it's already widely distributed due to P2P -- Brian Eno's 1991 "My Squelchy Life" album, for example. And of course, I have the almost certainly fake copies of early Boards of Canada albums that are going around (probably might as well delete those, though, because they're fake).

Nurse With Wound aren't bad actually, I was harsh there. But Torturing Nurse = the equipment they use. Even if you like the sound of it, you have to admit it's just some expensive analog equipment whirring away and having its knobs twiddled.

They are shit by deduction.

I have a CD-R full of demos and other rare tracks by Kevin Gilbert, who was a very talented singer and musician back in early/mid-nineties that always seemed to be one step away from fame. He accidentally killed himself in 1996, but his music has enjoyed a small following since then, especially thanks to the internet. Anyway, the CD-R was burned for me by somebody who was connected to Gilbert, and it contains lots of songs that most people, including Gilbert fans, have not heard. The problem is that a lot of them are in lossy formats. :(

They're in lossy formats, so what? The soul of the music is what counts. For proof, see http://4-ch.net/music/kareha.pl/1191795608/

I care about sound quality as much as the next guy (actually, probably a lot more than the next guy), but keeping songs to yourself because of that is just absurd.

I'm very willing to share it, actually. It's just that nobody has really expressed interest in it. If somebody asked me to upload the tracks for them, I'd do it for sure. The problem is that most people I talk to online have never even heard of Kevin Gilbert, so they wouldn't want to hear a bunch of low-quality demos and b-sides by him.

Yeah well you're a noise fan! (I'm assuming). But go look at post 16, I explained myself, I'm not a jerk.

It's just, to listen to that stuff you have to open your mind to the level of "wow, the sound of air and birds singing outside my window is fucking DEEP". And then you either go bald, stroke your chin a lot and become a curator, or turn into some gonzo nihilist wackjob who espouses aphoristic bullshit in interviews (see EYE).

Even things like Nurse With Wound have cohesion, because they're almost like producers or mixers. I just have a beef with that twiddle the knobs, "WOW SUCH BEAUTIFULLY HARSH NOISE!" shit. Not enough of a beef to dress all V For Vendetta and picket it though.
