What blogs do you read and/or find noteworthy?
One of the oldest and biggest community blogs around, Metafilter has an incredibly broad range of contributors and posting subjects. Moderation is low, and usually controversies are put to an end at MetaTalk (http://metatalk.metafilter.com/), and this somehow seems to work, as the majority of the posts there are enjoyable, the members fairly intelligent and the discussions that go on in the comment section are not void of trolls and flamewars but in general less 12-yearish than in the rest of the internet.
There is also AskMetafilter (http://ask.metafilter.com/), where questions to pretty much every subject can be asked, the members then try to give answers. There are also many, many other sideprojects and cool stuff you will notice when you hang around long enough, so give it a try!
Five people and the occasional guestblogger blog about politics, technology, IT stuff and a lot of hip & weird stuff that's going on in the world, with a slight focus on the Los Angeles area - but they manage to shed light on the issues they blog about pretty well.
Warren Ellis of TRANSMETROPOLIAN fame speaks about stuff a little bit more obscure than the stuff on BoingBoing, lets readers go wild in his comment section and is generally a little bit more anarchic with his blog which is focussed mainly on weird news, art (mostly music & performance stuff) and politics.
I used to be a big fan of Soul Pacific (http://www.soulpacific.com) when it was still around, however of recent is has died. It was a moveabletype based blog with about 10 or so writers covering a whole bunch of topics, and always a good read. Until the retard spammers came in and started posting crap.
A blog about all things futaba with a LOT of links to other related sites. Blessed be those who can read Japanese.

In August 2003 I moved to Kyoto, Japan as a part of the JET program. I am an assistant language teacher in three Jr. High schools. The experience has been...interesting to say the least. Interesting enough to warrant it's own editorial.
However, there isn't just one editorial that could cover everything about my experiences here. So I decided to make it into an editorial series. This is the main page - check here for updates.

Akihabara News has been founded in 2002 by Mr G-A G or more commonly called Daimaou on different forums, and has spent 4 years in Hong-Kong (China) and presently lives in Tokyo Japan.
Strong of its experience, Daimaou decided to writes news and articles to his fellow Gwei-lo (Cantonese) or Gai-jin (Japanese) which means foreigners, about all this stuff that he is daily playing with.
