but yeah, /b/ has toned down lately. i don't really think its increased moderation or the paypal/yowcow thing, i actually think that time on /b/ changes your opinion of whats disgusting. try it, go to /b/ and ask people to post the most disgusting, horrifying picture they have. you're going to get a lot of pictures of ashlee simpson and britney spears.
