Dear god. Google is really starting to become quite the monopoly for internet information. I wonder what would happen if they go bust?
A few weeks ago, I couldn't access google search for about half a day. It didn't take me long to shrug it off and use Altavista instead, although it felt a little alien at first. People adapt pretty quickly.
The real question is, which alternative search engine would respond (to the increased demand and different expectations) the fastest?

It's nice but it's a pain to find stuff like landmarks. For example to find the Statue of Liberty I had to use Google maps to locate the place.
OTOH if you want to find the closest MacDo then Google Earth (MacEarth?) delivers.
BTW who painted the Statue of Liberty blue? :P

You'll have to do alot of appending of this kind to keep up with your usual resentments against otakudom around here, Albright!LC/IWhc3yc.
