I'm working on and have nearly completed an English navi for 2ch. It's very simple and uses no fancy code, in the spirit of the Futaba Channel navi at http://shii.org/over/futaba which doesn't do much else than translate the menu for you. This navi does a bit more than the Futaba navi though. It presents a specialized vocabulary list which includes not only selected 2ch slang, but also various phrases which can be found on error pages, buttons, links, and the like. It also gives a series of links to various English and Japanese 2ch resources, like the AA Daijiten and the Wikipedia article.
I would like to know if anyone is willing to host such a thing. I presume it will get regular traffic once it's up on a site. It'd need someone who's willing to replace the files from time to time as new boards are added on 2ch and as translations improve and the vocabulary list increases. I can handle email requests and bug reports.

I see that there is still confusion over what 801 stands for on http://4-ch.net/2chportal/
801 stands for YAOI （やおい）. I don't know exactly about the origins of the term, but I figure it has something to do with
や(つ)、や(っつ) = 8
零／〇 (or zerO?) = 0
いち、いつ = 1
By the way, people, let's help out with correcting or coming up with appropriate board titles for http://4-ch.net/2chportal/ - the ones that still need attention have a question mark ("?") next to them. ヽ(´ー｀)ノ

I haven't heard from >>1 in many many months, either because they've been out of university without a net connection, or just lost touch.
