I used to hear stories about people making multiple accounts on their own forums and talking to themselves in order to make it seem lively and get others interested. I always dismissed those stories as apocryphal, but I guess not only were they true, the craft has now been commercialized.

Really makes you wonder. Like, wouldn't people see through that sort of thing? I could see it happen on a totally anonymous forum, but with registration, you must have to be a good liar indeed. And of course the forum's credibility would go to nil if the real users found out.
