I'm sure the newsgroup was a factor in her suicide. However, the parents are just looking for somewhere to point the finger. Poor parenting and the girl's own mental weakness were probably just as significant towards the suicide as the newsgroup was.

But hey, I don't really see suicide as a crime or anything. It's your life, so as long as you don't suicide in a really disruptive manner then it's your right.
