It's getting hard to know for sure who you're talking to online. While we on this forum may not care, on other places it may be useful. Let's talk about OpenID, LID, Yadis, and inames.
Why do inames cost money?
Why pay money to register for this service? It hardly does anything, and there are free identity alternatives such as OpenID which are more widely used.

I like OpenID. It needs to be supported in more places, though. Also, instead of people trying to XMLize it into a blisteringly overcomplicated One True Solution for anything and everything (http://kveton.com/blog/2006/10/07/openid-20-status/), it should stay simple and small.
