so i just got an asus eee pc and took it to work yesterday. some people think it's great.
"just the kind of thing i could get for my 4 teenage girls."
some people think it's lame.
"why didn't you just get an ipod touch?"
"i'd like to see you hold that thing up to your head and talk into it while driving"
my response is "um, it serves a purpose? i carry it to work to do what i don't want to do on my shitty work computer: listen to music, chat, read forums and cruise craigslist"
i guess being an early adopter is a sad life.

I'm going for it in a few years if (when) the price has dropped more.
The next generation they will release hopefully sports a 1.2GHz CPU and the 950GMA for gfx.
As soon as an eee will be released with specs around these I'll go and get it for sure!
The new 8.9-Screen looks great! A little more pixel density and every eee fan would kill to get one.
I for one have an XO-1 from the OLPC, and I'm pleasantly surprised to meet a fellow owner of a "race to the bottom" laptop on 4ch.
I love mine, but I need to deface the lime green edges with duct tape or something before taking it to work.
