I have a new Blackberry Curve, and it's fine for e-mailing, texting, listening to music, and surfing websites (not to mention I can call people with it). But I'd appreciate being able to do some practical stuff with it. Maybe a word processor so I can write essays without having to be in my cramped dark apartment, or bash or a C compiler so I could do some simple text-based computing.
nope don't think so buddy
A Laptop.
Yeah, but I want a laptop I can stick in my pocket, and until it becomes a bit easier to purchase Pico-ITX form factor boards, this is the closest I can get.
(This should be on /tech/, so let's not bump it, ok?)
What you probably should be looking for is a PDA with a decent keyboard. But as for "the closest you can get", that is probably something more like this:

Fujitsu FMV-U8240, aka FMV-BIBLO LOOX U50 (and several other names). Please buy me one.
I'm reading this from a Cingular, now AT&t, 8525.They have a slide out keyboard. I have word and excell on it. Memory is limited though. cable connects to laptop and it syncs easy enough. No ativirus and it has never crashed from surfing porn sites. love it!
