I always wondered what a "News for VIP" board is for. I found out that the people posting on it are called VIPPER and that it's not really for news but for general chatting. But what makes it so special that so many people in Japan use it?

I don't understand. Are you from Japan, but unaware of what VIP is, yet aware of what 4-ch is? That's strange. 4-ch is deeply affected by Japanese culture and japanese bbs. Japanese bbs had first news for VIP. This is just a western copy. But if people like the board it stays and people like it, so it stays.

News for VIP is a special place: most people don't get what it is, but those who do, stay and chat with each other.
