Take this quiz: http://www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php
I got:
Your Aspie score: 127 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 77 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie
And I got a 25 on http://4-ch.net/general/kareha.pl/1158185340/
On that other quiz I got 32, this quiz tells me, 101/200 and 87/200; "both Aspie and neurotypical"
I know an aspie and we share a lot of traits, which has caused me a lot of worry in the last year. Before I met him I didn't even suspect myself of having these traits.
I just hope I can identify (already done) and change (crosses fingers) those traits I consider undesirable.
Damn it.
155/120. Somehow I knew it was going to come out this way.
I got 119/200. I was sure I'd get a way higher number, considering I'm basically the Asperger POSTER CHILD.
161 of 200
and 32 on that second one.
I don't even know what fucking Asperger's is. I know something is very wrong with me though...

I don't understand what this means. So, I'm both one and the other? They're not mutually exclusive? I definitely do some bizarre things like pacing around and singing to myself which the test seems to quantify as a syndrome of Aspergers, but I know two Aspies and they're very different from me. Both have a weird emotionless voice which makes me wary of them. One has a horrible problem with apologizing and also doesn't fully understand when to use swearwords and when not, and the other is more like me except for his voice. Also, unlike real Aspies I have no compulsions, I hardly ever get stressed about anything and I am never convinced my opinion is right.
This was a pretty enlightening test-- now I know how Aspies consider themselves different-- but I'm not sure their self-description is accurate. They might be melding together two different kinds of mental development, say (A) the ADD/ADHD hyper and free-spirited mentality and (B) the autistic, parallel world mentality. I know for a fact that I have ADD because I've taken pills for it. Both types have poor reactions to normal social situations, and both prefer talking in more controlled environments, but I think it's unwise to band them together.

Kids today and their online tests. If you actually had Asperger's you would definately know about it. I've known about mine since I was a little kid, and I've struggled very much throughout my entire life. Conditions like hyperlexia and sensory integration dysfunction have made it very difficult for me to function in the world. So I say to you all who don't actually have it to just be glad you don't have to deal with the world the way I do.
>>33
Thanks for clearing that up, that test was making me uncomfortable ever since I took it.
I originally took the test because I was trying to figure out if it was possible if I had it or not. I thought I might've had it, but figure if the test said I didn't, I didn't. If it said I did, it was still possible I did... but not necessarily.
Luckily, I was homeschooled K-12, with the exception of 7th grade and college since then.
I don't fit in with society at all, other than when I'm trying to based on what I think a "normal person" would do. I don't see the point in talking most of the time, have been told by some that I seem emotionless, and have been called "extremely shy" by most people who know people.
I've lurked at a few Aspie forums, have read about situations Aspies have be in, have read the main symptom of AS, and I've related to most of them.
I could waste money (and time) going to a shrink to be diagnosed with hell-knows what, possibly be prescribed some kind of "medicine," or end up paying for something I may not even have... or just try and deal with it myself. I chose the latter.
I know I'm not what most people would define as "normal," and out of the usual AS symptoms I am missing the repetitive behaviors (as far as I can see) and the bad motor skills (although, I've never really played sports or anything), so it might not be AS. It may just be that due to how I was raised, I ended up with a lot of the symptoms of AS without actually having it. I've considered this.
But in the end, does it matter if it's one or the other? Either way, I'll just have to find some way to cope with it.
>most people who know people.
should have been "most people who know me."
and
>main symptom
should have been "main symptoms."

What kind of question is "Do you lick people you like a lot?"? I lolled.
Ewww, gRo5s!
Yeah, well according to my various online tests, I have ADD and Aspie, OCD, and I'm INTP. of course if I really was all of those things, I think I'd be in a mental hospital.
People like psuedo-diagnosis because it makes them feel like they aren't responsible for their bizaare behavior. Their failure to get a job isn't because they spend all their free time playing Final Fantasy and watching Star Trek -- they're "diseased", so expecting them to grow up and take responsibility is "unfair" because they simply are slaves to the disease.
Same old thing, tell them they're too damn lazy to buckle down and do their homework, they'll hate you. Diagnose them with Aspie or ADD and drug the crap out of them, they'll like you more because they don't have to change. You just sit and wallow in your "dieasedness" and throw a little pity party as you can't make friends (because of the disease of course), when the truth is that you have no friends because you sit home and play FF or watch 8 hours of scifi.
I believe that the diseases are definately real, and it's entirely possible I tend to ADD or Aspie type traits, but I know that I'm responsible for my life. If the people on this thread really had aspie's, it wouldn't take an internet forum to find out. You'd have been diagnosed at 5 or 6 years old, by a doctor. A real life doctor with actual medical training.

All this means is that a brief clinical look at the test results would not rule out the posibbility of my being diangosed with Asperger's... does not mean I have it.
I'd also like anyone indicating that the possible diagnosis is a way to escape responsibility for changing to stuff it into his/her slave-brain and go back to satisfying the great hive-mind. Since that person has given up on any individuality which might interfere with the operation of the grand commune, that person should probably eliminate his/her internet access as a superfluous distraction.
Asperger's is a neurological factor, and someone operating with a valid diagnosis of Asperger's needs to know that attempts to overcome certain traits which, for whatever reason, are found to be unacceptable by either society at large or specific individuals will meet with a much slower rate of success (if any) than someone who is NOT operating with a neuorlogical differentiation.
I don't know if I have it or not. I know I have some issues that must be worked on because of certain things I want. I'm working on it. Tests like this let me know what I can not rule out.

god, I lost a good time with that quiz and now this?! T_T
I am very likely neurotypical, but the funny thing is that I had once been entirely symptomatic of Asperger's syndrome. I have a sneaking suspicion that I've retained only the positive aspects thereof.
Recently I've been experiencing symptoms resembling those of the general area of paranoia, so perhaps I'll retain any postive aspects of that, too...

36 year old female here :)
I don't remember my scores but the analysis thinks I'm not Aspie but social phobic, have complex psychological issues, and slightly gifted (though I'm not sure how being fixated on something would make you gifted...)
I score very high on those aspie quizzes (the first one, 147) but I think I'm more schizoid than aspie. In fact I bet a lot of people who going around "bragging" that they have aspergers IRL are actually either schizoid or just eccentric. Especially people who frequent these kind of sites and have hikki tendencies.
Of course there is a bit of an argument to be made that the two disorders are directly related, possibly the same thing. I knew a psychiatrist that told me the only difference is when you get diagnosed -- If you're diagnosed as a child you get diagnosed with aspergers. As an adult, schizoid pd.
I always found this amusing because when I was younger I was waay on the aspergers end. Now I'm more schizoid. People who are schizoid tend to have social anxiety and will turn into more of a recluse. People with asperger's will go out into public and feel no shame/embarrassment for the way they act. Probably what happens is aspies are encouraged/rewarded their whole life to act weird whereas schizoids have been conditioned exactly opposite -- to repress their natural aspie urges. Just a hunch though.

Thank god I'm more normal than aspie, as I can actually function in society. Hell, I even had a girlfriend for over a year and a half. Whom I then lost because I cheated on her too many times. Take that, aspergers. I'm normal enough that I can fuck my life up in the same way normal folks can, while still having bizarre month long obsessions.

I have an Aq score of 42. Nobody has ever said to me that I could have AS but I have so many signs. Very few friends, never 'fit in' , on my own a lot, obsessions with very specific and unusual interests, need for routine, constantly jiggle my legs and fiddle with hands, hate being touched, unusually good musical ear (but cannot read music),struggle maintaining eye contact and conversation, hate social situations like parties etc. I am a bit of a' boffin' at school, getting A/A* in all subjects. Although when I do speak to others I let them talk about their interests rather than mine and (mostly) see their feelings even if it takes a long time. I would also like to be with people more than I am.My mother says that I was completely uninterested in humans as a toddler/baby but said she thought it was her fault although she doesn't know why.
