I couldn't think of anywhere else to post this. What do fellow 4ch'ers do to relieve stress on their mouse hand? I've been having trouble doing stuff for extended periods of time on my computer; my hand starts to dully ache after a while, so I have to stop for a couple of hours :(. I'm thinking of going to the mall to pick up a wrist brace tomorrow, but what else can I do to improve my mouse hand's health? :x
Truthfully, my mouse arm/hand started hurting really really bad once. I figured it was the table that I had my arm resting one that was causing it.
I took a sock, folded it three times, and put it under my wrist. That was three years ago, and my arm has never hurt again. (From the computer, anyway.)
I usually use a laptop with a touchpad, and occasionally the tip of my finger gets incredibly sensitive. I assume it's because of my skin being worn down. :/
Anyway, what >>2 said is right. You need a support under your wrist, and you'll be fine. You shouldn't need to get a wrist brace, but if it still aches a little even then, you should give your hand a longer rest.
I stop and pause for a while every other hour.
You need to use you hands and wrists in a way that is different than the repetitive nature of using a mouse. Use a Wrist Ball (http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/review/wrist_ball_review)
Take a look at where the circle is, that has gotten REALLY sensetive and smooth for me.
