I regret what I did... (27)

Hi guys, I do actually hate myself right now. For some stupid reason I was dumb enough to commit shoplifting in a store that I pretty much visit everyday, the stuff I took was worth about $7 and not only was that stupid, no It became expensive to. Some security guard had been keeping an eye out for me for a long time now and he finally got me, and the police was notified to.

Now I'm facing a $140 fine for what I did, that isn't the worst part that made me want to turn back the time and never do anything like this again, nor is it that I'll be placed in a crime register and will be having trouble getting a job in the next five years.

No, the thing that bothers me is that I was planning on getting a driver's license now and if I'm really unlucky they will make me wait until I'm 21 until I can even take lectures. I really hate myself right now. Also, the other reason for being so depressed right now is that the owner of the shop just told me "Do not ever come here again!" and... well, I can understand why she's so mad at me and I really regret what I did.

Man... just wanted to say this to someone, thanks for listening.

Well, I'm sorry about that. It must suck not to be able to buy Ramen at that Quick-E mart again.

why steal?
even if it was only 7$ stealing is one of the worst acts that you can commit,

5 Name: Anonymous : 2008-03-10 20:48 ID:qKnxsDVJ

I know, the thing is... I'm feeling awful just because of this, and well... I'm the only one to blame. Still, I would gladly pay the fine as soon as it arrives but I'm still worried about the driver's license...

I don't, however, regret being found out. If I haven't I would've probably still be shoplifting all around the city. I'm pretty grateful in the end, still... a little bit worried.

Buy the store-owner a huge, nice present, and attach a note with a very sincere apology.

I don't know... I'm not allowed to enter the store anymore due to police restrictions...

I think a present is a very nice idea.

I don't know why but there's this store I always go to after school. It's a 'mom and pop store', I feel like I have a relationship with them, even though there are plenty of stores around I'd feel like shit if they didn't allow me to enter.

Also, the apology note is a must. Even if there's no present sometimes things like that go a long way.

Fourthed. Apologizing might make the shopkeeper stop being mad at you, and it would probably make you feel better about yourself, too. It would certainly be the right thing to do if you are sorry for what you did.

Hi again! I'm thinking of writing a letter of apology it seems like the right thing to do. Anyhow, It seems like I can forget about my driver's license now...

My old man got a letter down at the mail office, a mail I have no chances of reading. The thing is that he doesn't know what it is so the risks are pretty high that it is a suspension.

Damn! I was starting to feel better and now it's all gone, If I could only get to read what's in that letter then everything would've been much easier...

Oh, yeah. Also, he doesn't know anything about this but I'll guess that he'll be pretty mad if he'll know about it.

I'm done for.

Dammit, I'm calling the driver's license department right now, when looking at the website I did notice that it's possible to loose the driver's license if I commitm "General crime". I'm so done for...

16 Name: Anonymous : 2008-03-12 17:39 ID:qKnxsDVJ

Hey guys! I just read on a website, they said that the department sometimes give the one getting a license a warning if they do something wrong. They also said that I had to commit a "Serious crime". Right now I hope that shoplifting for $7 isn't all that serious.

However, it's still to early to celebrate... I'm shaking over here!

The law pretty much use drugs as an example of a serious crime... anyhow, he's getting the letter now and I'll prepare to hide as much as I can.

i hate myself atm...

Okay, here's the deal. My old man just came up to my room. He wasn't mad or anything, he didn't mention any shoplifting, crime or even a driver's license. However, he asked me to go and talk to me asap. I bet he's on to something... hopefully just a warning...

I'll report back later.

This is almost as good as a brother reporting on the sex he just had with his sister. Almost.

>>19 I'd love to see that happen!

Anyhow, it seems things did just straighten out smoothly. They won't stop me from getting a driver's license, I cannot, however, enter the store anymore... I guess I simply have to change my appearance so they don't recognize me anymore!

Thanks!

How's the apology letter looking?
Get to it, or you'll regret it later.

Someday you will look back on this and laugh...awkwardly.

FISSION MAILED

TRY AGAIN?

Dear manager/owner of Quikimart,

You probably remember me as the kid who shoplifted from your store a little while ago. I am writing this to express my deepest express my deepest regret and sorrow for committing such a hideous sin. I do not know what drove me to break one of the commandments. I fell victim to temptation, and now I am paying the greatest cost for my moment of weakness. The protectors of this land have charged me with a grand fine of $140. But it is not this financial setback that hurts me the most. No, you do not realise, but I still bear the emotional scars from that fateful day. As I sit here writing this letter, I am slightly comforted at the thought of you reading my words, and becoming aware of my guilty burden.

My heart is heavy. Nothing, not even the cold winds of winter will move it. Every night I try to sleep with the thought of letting down my fellow countrymen, and the thought of letting down myself. I hope that you find it within your generous heart to forgive such a poor soul. I am optimistic that with time, you will take down the barriers that separate us. I have a dream. I dream that my children will some day be able to walk on your land and not be arrested. When such a day comes, I will welcome it with open arms.

Once again, I am deeply sorry for my episode of insanity and grovel for your forgiveness.

Yours faithfully.

Too much

It's gotta be more sincere than that.
And honestly, I think you're only regretting it cause you've been caught and your license was at risk. If that's the case, you've got some issues. Think a bit more about how YOU would feel in the owner's place. Think, also, about how many people actually do shoplifiting without getting caught, and how much of a loss they cause.
If you don't pay attention to these small values, you won't be a good driver, 'cause you won't be able to care for the lives of others in the street as well.
