I have absolutely no motivation in my life at all. Back in middle school, I did very well, because my parents told me I should. Now, I have lost all respect for my parents. My grades in school are a flip flop between 100 and 0. I'm taking drugs to satisfy my desire for something new, and all it does is make me feel like an asshole for betraying my family and friends. If I could only find a girl that I feel is good enough for me to love, or a father-type figure that I could look up to and respect...

I used to be bored until I discovered how awesome it is to talk really loud. Like, almost shouting. You can be the guy who shouts all the time. It'll change your life. Try it.
I just started my new job at Wal-mart, and have suddenly lost all motivation to get back into school (I dropped out 5 semesters ago).

I mean sure, you start thinking: "after all it isn't that hard, and I've got my own good money, clean, no buts and on time at the end of the month/week/whatever." Think in the long term man, long term.
Outside classes and homework, surfing the internet and watching anime, I don't have much else to do. I'm mostly an uninteresting, boring person and I frequently find that I don't have much to say when people try to talk to me.
I've been looking to see if I could take up any new hobbies that don't involve refreshing the same websites in my spare time , but I have yet to find anything. So I fall back on refreshing those websites and doing nothing else with my time.

I frequently find that I don't have much to say when certain people try to talk to me, but that's because I'm a bit socially awkward, defensive around people I don't know too well and that usually I can't really think of anything I'd like to talk to certain people about, even if I wrack my brains for a topic or even just something to break the silence, you know?
I often feel people get weirded out when trying to talk to me informally, or that I accidentally end up giving them the silence treatment, or that I have clumsy mannerisms that annoy people. I think I just act really uncomfortable around certain people but I don't realize it most of the time, and when I do I just can't help it.

I did the retail gig for a while. School does kinda blow ass, but in exchange you get about 3x as much money for putting up with the same shit you do at Wal-mart.

Bored bumping, man, i wish i had something to do, anything.
Developed some "mental difficulties" a while back and have been on serious meds for the past three months almost. Boredom to the extreme. Worst part is the meds sap me of all motivation and my folks and shrink don't want me to get a job until the new year. I should be enjoying my time off from reality, but I'm anxious and bored. Too sedated to really do anything, even reading seems like a chore after a while. I hear you, fellow brothers and sisters in boredom. I am with you.
Well, my problem is that I don't have the money to go back, and due to losing a past job and falling WAY behind (like, 23 months or so) on my student loan payments, I can't really get any more loans. My credit's shot and I'm broke. I really have no idea how to get back in.
Every once in a while I get a new burst of enthusiasm, thinking "okay, I can do it this time! I only have to save up X dollars to pay off this and this and this, and THEN I can finally go back to school!", but then I realize I don't even know what I want to go back to school for. I'm tired of computer science, but it was the only thing I was semi-decent at (although not that great to begin with).
I think the Wal-mart thing was really the last straw though. I figure it's better in the long term that I stick with one crappy job, and hope it becomes less crappy through raises and possible promotions than worry about or waste money trying to get back into college.
If you're going to do retail for your career, I'm not sure how well Wal-mart will serve you. I did it for a long time, and my raises barely kept up with inflation and minimum wage increases. When you're on the bottom, you really don't get very far... turnover is so high and they know it, so right out of the gate they really won't expect much of you.
My advice would be to find an outfit that's a little smaller, where you're not just a number. I did Toys R Us for a little bit, there was a world of difference between that and department stores. Go somewhere where you like who you work with, will learn how to do things and your time can make an impact on the day-to-day running of the store. Aim to become department supervisor, then lower management. Store managers have long hours and lots of responsibility, but they actually get paid pretty well... more than enough if you have no family. It sounds shitty and it isn't all fun, but it works.
Depends how much you care I guess. I had other things going on so I really didn't... but there are full-time positions in the retail gigs out there to be had. Hell, I bet in two generation's time half the globe's population will be employed by Wal-mart to one degree or another.
The good thing about retail work is it's easy. Dealing with the public kinda sucks at first but you eventually get so jaded that it doesn't bother you anymore.
