My brother and I have fought our entire lives, but we still did a lot of things together. Starting around the 6th grade he changed. He started hanging out with a bad crowd, listening to rap, and before long we weren't doing anything together.

When he brings his asshole friends over I can hear him talking about me behind my back, he leaves messes everywhere and expects everyone else to clean up after him, also he's been kicked out of school and spends all day with his dropout buddies smoking and talking shit about other people. He's had one job his entire life and he couldn't hold it for a week.

My parents have threatened to put him out on the street, but other than yelling that empty threat they haven't done anything about him. The thing that especially pisses me off is that I know my parents would have NEVER put up with it if I had done half of the things he has done. I don't talk to him anymore, even knowing he's in or around the house makes me angry; yet I've never shown it. He used to steal a lot of things from me and I'm afraid if I got in an argument with him it would start happening again. I did stand up for myself when my things used to disappear, but I never got anything back and that just made things worse with him.

I now plan my life around him only doing things when he's not around, I just can't enjoy anything knowing that I can see him at any moment. The sound of his voice alone is enough to make me rage inside. Some days I'll just lay in my bed for hours until I hear the front door open and I'm sure that he has left the house.

The only way I can see things getting better is if he moved FAR away. I'm 20 and he's 16; can anyone give me some advice on this situation?
