If by conversation you mean idle chatter which isn't work related then I've beat every single one of you by thirty years. Ha-ha!

Provide me with an email address, and I'll change that. 'Cause I'm bored and that's just sad. We can talk about campy horror movies, music, and how I like to pretend I'm a robot to get through every single shitty day at school.

And, yes, I really am a girl. We're not so scary, once you get past the backstabbing bitchiness.

>>11, as much as I feel sorry for you (being in a situation I once was), I gotta say that you don't count as a live girl in this. Right?

And to clarify, you poor guys don't share one word with a gal for any reason?

Brighten your countance, and line dance. Or simply be less creepy ºwº

I am wondering that too. Why aren't you guys talking to girls? Are you going to melt if you exchange some words with a person who has a vagina? Are girls so foreign or alien that you fear your mind will rupture if an attempt at communication is made?

I can understand not going out of your way to talk to girls, hey we have busy lives and what not. Why would you go out of your way to avoid talking to girls though? Are you thinking, "Oh my god... that person has boobies! I must stay away from the boobies or I may end up losing control and attempt a fondle."?

Sure, I'll have it.

It's not that I avoid talking to girls, but that I'm scared of socializing like a three year old. My guess is that other guys are less prone to find this creepy/undesirable so it's more likely I'll get a few minutes of not-work-related chat with one every few months.

Severe fear of rejection, fear of awkward silences, fear of looking like I'm trying too hard, lots of things like that.

2nd non-live robot girl here.

I can understand your fears, but I don't see why they only apply to girls. I'm like that with everyone to some extent, but I can hide it enough to be polite. (Not enough to have in-depth conversation and make good friends, but eh, can't win them all.)

Anyway, if you can talk to guys casually, it should be easy enough to take the approach to girls. Just stop thinking of them as anything special and appraoch them as normal people.

I haven't had a conversation with a boy my age that wasn't school-related/brief small talk in over three years.

Wow. I hadn't actually realised this until just now.

>>Why aren't you guys talking to girls?

In grade school, I was molested by some of my female classmates. Then they reported it, and somehow made the administration believe that I did something to them, and it was all my fault. This was the early 90s, at the height of the whole sexual harrassment craze, so no prizes for guessing that they didn't investigate too far before passing judgment. I was scared shitless of those girls, so I couldn't say a word. I was terrified they'd beat the living tar out of my if I did.

Now I'm fucking terrified of women. A girl once tried to put her head on my shoulder, and I blacked out. Regained consciousness a few seconds later, but she was looking at me as if she'd seen a ghost. Said I was pale, sweating, and going into tremors.

I haven't spoken to her since.

Had a chance to go at a party, talked to some girls. Nothing more than discussion happened, but oh well. Count me out.

Didn't even see a girl all spring break. It was awesome.

Last girl my age I talked to was start of college year, Sept 2008. Some midget girl in our ragtag group who left after two days. Before her, would've been some girl in my old college around early 2008. I'm nearly 19. So count me in.

>>22 PTSD? I dunno, they got a new term every week for this kind of thing. An anxiety this explicit might be somewhat easily treatable, if you feel like checking it out.

>>13 Just regular social retardation. Not specific to girls, I am equally inept amidst both sexes. It's an problem more concerned with regular getting by and putting on as acceptable a face as possible at college until I get back home, girls don't really cross my mind beyond noticing interesting ones from afar. Kind of impractical to think you deserve something past the gun.

Don't talk to girls online either. I have two contacts on MSN. No forums (this one I stumble onto literally 2-3 times a year) or social networking sites. It's okay. Not disputing that things could be better, but evidently I'm hardly prepared to deal with those sort of things responsibly.

>>25 Same here.
