Stuck...looking for my niche in life (7)

As of late, it feels like I'm getting lost in what I want to do in the world. I've been going to college for a degree in computer networking, but only because I want to appease other people in my life. It's not something that "I" want to do or love. The problem is that I don't know what my "niche" is...I mean, I have things that I'm good at, and I have various skills, it's just that nothing really stands out.

I'm trying to decide if I should continue on spending money and time on college, if maybe that isn't even something that I want to do. I feel like something will eventually come along that will snap into my life, and it'll make perfect sense what I should be doing, but until then, I'm just bleh...any advise to help with this?

How many years of study is it and how many are left?
Who's paying for it and how?
What do you plan on doing to earn a living until you find your niche?

This. We really need to know more about your situation. Is it dire that you graduate on time? Do you need the work? Why can't you explore your interests?

I don't know what to say to this except do what feels right to you don't do what other people tell you to. For example you are getting a degree in computer networking, but you feel better taking care of children, then go for a early child care degree or something.

The point is no one can tell you what to do you have to follow your own heart, even if it letting people down around you. You have to do what is right for you. We can't tell you what to do or even give proper advice in what you should take or do, we can only try and point you in the right direction. In the end it is you who has to live with what you choose, so choose something that you will be able to wake up in the morning with energy and be able to go to work.

Yeah, I know how that feels, OP. I really can´t tell you what to do, but I´ll talk of my own experience.
I studied many years in college until I realized I wasn´t doing what I liked. My major meant nothing to me and probably I was doing it to satisfy others´expectations too. So after a long and painful period (it wasn´t easy at all) I changed my major to something I liked much more. I´m not going to tell you I have absolutely no doubt now (doubts will never abandon me I guess), but at least I feel much more comfortable and happier, and my major is connected to my interests in a deep way.
Some useful criterion is this: ask yourself if you would wanna be doing what you´re doing now when you´re 50 y.o or so. Having a future perspective helps to value things (at least for me).
Maybe finding a niche takes all life, but you can be getting closer and closer.
Best wishes!! :)

OP here. It's about 2 year degree, I have about 3 semesters left, but that's packing a lot of classes into them. My parents are paying for the classes out of pocket for me. Currently I'm working part-time at a retail store, however my hours vary a lot (I'm a favored employee, so I can get a few extra here and there).

I'm looking back at the things I wanted to do or were interested in back in the day but never really kept up with. I use to write a lot, and today I was browsing the internet at freelance writing and such out of interest. I don't know...it's really hard to find my place it seems.

how do you feel about finishing up? Can you at least get the degree, then decide how you want to start living?

If you still enjoy writing, just try doing a bit as a hobby again. You don't have to do anything major, just ease into it. Also, you should explore your town or city more and see whats out there. The best way to understand what you want to do is to explore and keep an open mind. It's not like you are in any rush or anything. Maybe you should try talking to your parents about this too.
