"Oil multinationals have Iraq's energy riches squarely in their sights but it may take at least a year for the country's soon-to-be elected government to focus on opening its prized fields to Big Oil.
Iraqi politicians' first task after the January 30 polls will be drafting a constitution for their strife-ridden country. Only when that assignment is finished will they be able to turn their attention to a petroleum law vital for foreign investment."
