EstarĂa bien... It's a good idea...
Firstly, I did say that I wont be adding more boards until we get a lot more users and more posts on the existing boards. That aside, there is another reason as to why a "Spanish" board wouldn't last long.
The *chan community, be that imageboard or discussion board started off in Japan. Hence why I have a Japanese board here, as it is some sort of attempt to create a link to 2ch, the largest set of boards that I know of. The *chan community has always been Japanese oreintated somewhat, and the English versions (4chan, idlechan, us) have also got that with anime and manga boards. A Spanish board would no go down well in the *chan community I see, simply because of our way of being so damn interested in the Japanese more than the Spanish/Central or South American cultures.
but i want it to talk in spanish about japan and wakachan/4-ch related XD
Maybe in the future we can set up a general foreign language/culture board on which Spaniards, Germans, Welsh etc. could post in their language. But I side with Squeeks on the point that the time hasn't come to set up boards like these, yet, and a specifically Spanish board doesn't sound like a good idea at all.
In the long term future....
.. when we get a fscking tonne of users and posters. So far, no.
There's been thoughts of creating a seperate lounge for all kinds of languages. Something akin to 2ch's http://academy4.2ch.net/gogaku/
This entirely depends on whether there's user demand for it, though.
I know a few people from these cultures which have an interest in Japan, and anime. I am one of them. I see that sometimes people complain about how this forum doesn't draw enough people, but if we don't step outside the box, we're not going to draw much except the people who are "so damn interested" in the Japanese culture.
It's a little alienating for those who aren't obsessed, or solely focused on Japan. I know it's alienating to my gf, who was the person who showed me the board. She found it because of a wikipedia entry on anonymity, not because of any particular interest in Japan.
Is this the "not-english" link on the left which doesn't work? Does the link mean it was attempted and failed, or that it's forthcoming?
I'd like it.

orz!!!
Sorry. Back-button form resubmission doom!
I don't like this nonsense in >>2. More boards will beget more users, not the other way around.
> the "not-english" link on the left which doesn't work?
It's forthcoming.
>>10
Please note that that was posted over a year ago. There's a bit more activity here now.
>but if we don't step outside the box, we're not going to draw much except the people who are "so damn interested" in the Japanese culture.
my interest in japanese culture: 0.
how much that deters me from visiting 4-ch: 0.
I suggest not clicking the links that relate to japanese culture, and you will be spared much alienation.
I do it all the time.
also, I don't like this nonsense in >>10. more boards mean more empty space, not more users. adding more huge tracts of desert to your little garden will not result in a gigantic field of cabbage.
Foreign language board sounds like a better idea than one just for spanish
