Partition to rename "Japanese" (10)

Since native speakers might not recognize the English word for their language and students of the Japanese language should know what 日本語 means, I suggest renaming it to 日本語 on the sidebar of both 4-ch and WAKAchan.

That's occurred to me before too. Will it affect people who don't have japanese fonts installed?

That is a possible problem. However if you can't see it properly on the side navigation, you probably wont see the content properly on the board.

I may do this idea, however, I will also look at providing its name in English underneath/next to, etc. On another Japanese note, I would also like a hand organising some basic Japanese to be done to the site, of which I will probably post something on /nihongo/ later about it when I work out what's needed, and I'll also get around to doing a Japanese copy of the rules, of which someone posted a long time ago.

You could use an image of the word instead (just on the sidebar)

I think "International" or "Languages" might be a better name seeing a whole lot of 2ch'ers are practicing their English there.

Maybe "Transpacific Lounge"?

Or 日本語 & 英語

This is too long.

There's been thoughts of creating a seperate lounge for all kinds of languages. Something akin to 2ch's http://academy4.2ch.net/gogaku/
This entirely depends on whether there's user demand for it, though.
