Double posting (11)

I use my browser's back button a lot, and it seems somehow I'm ending up with multiple posts in a lot of threads. Since deletion is turned off all I can do about it is apologize and look noobish.

Does Kareha currently have any protection against this sort of thing that you could enable? If not I'll request it on the support board.

Just out of curiousity: is it possible to double-post if verification codes are turned on?

I saw your double post earlier in the F@H thread, and so far double posts are NOT a big issue, other than for yourself. Turning on ver. codes is something I dont really want to do, because it makes problems for the 99% of people who dont spam or double post, accidently or otherwise.

If you just post, insuring that you're clikcing "Reply" once , and not using that back button at times when you've just posted, I'd say there is a fair chance that you wont double post in future.

This may be because certain browsers feel the need to re-POST form contents when you go back to a page you arrived at earlier after posting. Personally, I feel this is just retarded on the part of the browsers, but there is a workaround: Set ALTERNATE_REDIRECTION to 1 in the config... That makes Kareha stop using HTTP redirects which apparently confuse browsers, and makes it use meta-refresh plus javascript instead.

Could you turn this on?

I'm not seeing a double-post problem going on, so I don't see the benefit of turning it on. If a double post problem occours from it, or many people complain about it, then I will act.

Try changing that habit. There's plenty of navigation links that you could use instead.

My bad. This was caused by a back button slap... I accidentally clicked on a link in the middle of typing my next post, so I didn't want to click links to go back and therefore lose what I had typed. So I took the plunge and slapped "back." I agree with WAHa that this is dumb browser behavior...

Anyway, just re-enabling the darn [Del] function on all of the boards would be the easiest fix, in my opinion... Until then, could you (or another mod) please delete one of my posts?
