Hello.
I have an issue with installing build-essential or g++ on my EEE PC.

sudo apt-get install build-essential

returns

Depends: libc6-dev but it is not going to be installed or libc-dev
Depends: g++ (>= 4:4.1.1) but it is not going to be installed

(I had to translate messages above to English.)

I tried to add Debian and Xandros repositories, I tried to download and mount Asus SDK ISO and install from it, but everything was with the same result.

It is possible, however, to reset my system to the factory default and then attempt to install, but this is the last measure.

If something's wrong with your Eee PC, who you gonna call? Debian Linux.

Asus modified Xandros the way it's sort of fucked up and not 100% compatible even with original Xandros. At least that's what I heard.

Looks like the only way is to reset the system and install all necessary things ASAP.

Why bother with the default Xandros OS when you can install Eee-buntu instead?
