I posted about this movie in another forum and once again no replies.
What's wrong, hasn't anyone seen it? Or has it been secretly banned lol? Just boring?? Not even US people want to discuss it.
Is this a movie? I've never heard of it.
Didn't hear of it, either.

Yes, sorry, I should have given you the imdb link. It's the http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0318725/ one.
It's about being a gajin in Japan, and as there is a connection 4-ch - Japan I thought I'd have better luck here, but I'm realizing now this movie might be a european thing, it isn't well known or widespread in the US?
Anyway, it's about a woman who was born in Japan, daughter to a Belgian ambassador and lived in Japan until she was five years old, so she speaks Japanese.. then she lived in Belgium until she was twenty? years old.. and she wants to go back to Japan and live and work there.
She manages to get a contract with a Japanese company, as an interpreter, and is very excited but it doesn't turn out that well, because of how she is treated, being a gajin. She ends up cleaning toilets and is generally humiliated and mistreated by the japanese people at the company.
It's based on a book, supposedly a true story. It has been said to be racist (against Japanese) but also the other way around, that it actually is like this in Japan.
I was hoping to get some comments from people who have been working or living in Japan, but when I posted about it all I got was this link (Amazon reviews about the book) -
Yes, it is based on a true story lived by the writer Amelie Nothomb.
She was fucked up the head
