So I just watched "Ali G Indahouse" for the first time since its theatrical release, and I have to say I was impressed; it's far better than I remember it being. I think my perception of the film and the character was soured slightly by the period around the movie's release, where Ali almost became a role model for the very people he was supposed to parody. That and the fact that Borat is a hell of a lot funnier.
and cohen is now bringing his other TV character, Bruno, to film, in "Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt". right down to the title it seems like this one is going to be very similar to Borat. a good thing? i think so.
Borat got way too quoted, way too quickly, for way too long. And I can just see another couple of months of everybody sounding homo. Could be funny though.
Throw the Jew down the well, so my country can be freee~~
I think Cohen will be able to deliver as Bruno, but there'll probably be more controversy around it.
