How many episodes in the Naruto series are there exactly?
∞
What a stupid thread.
I stopped watching Naruto & reading the manga when they started with the filler episodes.
I stopped watching Naruto when the first fight began in episode 1.
I really don't give a damn when you all stopped watching it, I just asked a simple question, and was expecting a simple answere. And before anyone says," Then why don't you find out yourself how many episodes there are if its so simple", I just thought that I would have gotten a more accurate answere here......haters
naruto should have ended after season 3. i stopped watching once i realized around season 2/3 that they would reuse plot and recap and use stock footage
Naruto more like dumbuto am i rigt
stock footage? explain a bit, this is new to me.
I stopped watching at 105 or so (just got behind) and never felt like starting back.
naruto getting too childish i rekn... same thing over and over.. compare it to other anime like bleach.. naruto is nuffin ! :P
i still watch it now and then when i get bored.. but not that much into it anymore like i used to
Naruto childish? Inconceivable!
Honestly?!! Till now no on replied to his question... and do you guys even know WHY there are fillers?!! I bet you don't... go figure it out and then you will understand the use of fillers. As to the number of episodes, I don't know, and would like to know.
Someone answer... please.
I dunno, it just doesn't seem to be a good idea to start a thread with a very specific question. Either people will answer it or not but if any discussion takes place (happens rarely in these cases but does), it usually significantly diverts from the original, very specific topic.
I just wanted to know how many episodes there are because, one site I went to had about 150, another 200,another had even more, so I was just curious.
Right now there are 154 episodes but there is going to be ∞ episodes.

Filler episodes are used to strecth the source material so that it takes up more screen time. A filler episode is usually lighter in tone and contains more "fan-service" than the regular episodes but has no real effect on the major story line.
There are a couple major reasons for filler episodes. 1: to lighten the mood of the show. If things get too dark/emotional/tense the audiance grows tired of it and stops watching. A comedy/fan-service break will keep the audiance's attention. 2: To fill the contract. Series are licensed for a particular number of episodes (or episodes/season). The shows are paced so that the big moment of the show happens just before the contract runs out.
Episode 51 of Bleach (another long running series) is a good example of a filler episode.
Flashback episodes (a particular type of filler) reuses old footage and has little (if any) new animation. This is to give the animators a little break.
Long series like the Dragon Ball series and Naruto tend to start feeling like Great Expectations. Dragged out to point of being very tedious. I know I've reached my limit when I wish one of the main characters would die so the story will move on.
More reason to just wait until the manga is done and then read the series. See you in 2038.
The thing with Naruto is that it's a typical Shonen Jump-series
that keeps going and going and going duracell-style, and people
who have more... 'experience' with japanese animation think that
these kind of shows are repetetive, a ripoff of another show and
just too damn long, and find more pleasure in watching shows
that aren't meant to be milked until the end of time.
bleach is a shonen jump series , will it die to?
Handy guide to anime and manga:
A series that is published in:
The thing that annoys me the most is the "Just wait 'til Goku gets here!" syndrome. This is when every one stands aound for three or more episodes waiting for the main character to show up, of course the main character is usually stuck doing some absurd "training", the only purpose of which is to delay. This probably to build suspense but after certian point suspense becomes tedium.
well, initially bleach wasn't half bad, like the first 4 volumes or something, it wasn't until the shonen shish kebab thing kicked in that it started really sucking
but the art is still pretty cool
>absurd "training"
BALLOON-POPPIN'!
lol
Gotta say I like Naruto. Sure, it takes 5 episodes of nothing until the payoff, but it's worth it. Every series can't be uber serious like Evangelion.
watch more anime, and also are you like 15 or something
No, I'm in my 20s. And I do watch alot of anime. I just get tired of the ultra serious anime and sometimes just watch to watch it and have fun, like when I first started watching it.
Also, if your going to insult me, have some balls and sign your name, otherwise it's kind of tough to take you seriously.
>>28 seems to be missing the point of this kind of board.
I didn't start watching Naruto at all. I'm glad I never started.

Dear Omega the 5th,
My name is Wilford Brimley and you are a faggot for liking Naruto.
Sincerly,
Wilford Brimley, D.D.S.
P.S. I have the diabettis.
My name is Vin Diesel and I could kill all the characters in Naruto by only using my left elbow covered in fluffy stuff.

Nobody cares about your name. Drop it, and start judging people on what they say, not who they are.
have i made a wise choice by avoiding naturo like the plage?
one more thing >>32 go home i think i hear you mom callin
>>34
Depends on what kind of anime you like. I avoided it too because I didn't want to get stuck downloading 100+ episodes. Now that it's on TV, I've seen the first one or two dozen, and it's not bad at all. No worse than any other average shonen adventure show.
I do not think anyone seriously thinks that Naruto sucks because it is a silly show for little kids. It sucks because of the horrible filler episodes, the staring down that lasts minutes, the recap of the last episode that takes 5 minutes, etc.
I agree, not every anime can be a serious series. Imagine that.. every book isn't Moby Dick!
Hi, does anybody knows when will the filler episodes are going to finish so that they continue with the manga telling us what happens after 3 years have passed?
next season.
Fuck off, namefag.
Go over to your elitist, register-only forum where you can bitch about how nobody here likes Naruto with the other assholes who have large-ass signatures and 500x500 blinking avatars.
NOBODY CARES
GO CRY EMO KID
BTW, I saw an ep of Naruto on TV today. I only thought it sucked given its heritage and the crowd it attracts, and I confirmed it to be as sucky as expected.
>I agree with >>28, and I'm anonymous, so stfu n00bz.
NOBODY CARES
GO CRY EMO KID
Stop being so mean to Omega the 5th. Now that I've had the chance to talk to him more he can convinced me of the fallacy of anonymous posting. ANONYMOUS OF THE WORLD UNITE, THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO LOSE IS YOUR NAME.
>>42 Okay.
I will now start posting using combinations from http://www.lifesmith.com/comnames.html
So, what should you do if you meet somebody who actually thinks he enjoys Naruto, and that for some reason punching him in the face is not an option?
kick them in the knee

I think pouring aqua regia on their face would be a good idea.
