Dance, baby human!
As for my own opinions, I just watched the raw of episode 1, and it was actually much better than I expected. Granted, I set my expectations low, but this was really a pleasant surprise. The directing and production was great. I especially liked the excellent work on ambient sound and music.
The anime production team apparently decided to play fast and loose with the story. Surprisingly, this results in a much more solid story for the first episode. The beginning of the manga always felt a bit rushed and haphazard to me, but the anime really tightens it up. There are some omissions that I don't care for, like not explicitly stating that Satou's doing his weird-ass mail-order drugs, but overall I think the changes are for the better.
I really hope they can keep up this high standard for the later episodes. In that case, we should be in for a great show.
PS: The ending theme is so awesomely demented I could just explode. The opening is total everyday anime opening music, but the ending really makes up for it.
Speedsub by Studio ADTRW is out:

The music is done by Pearl Kyoudai....
Quite nostalgic name for middle-aged men....
I know nothing of Pearl Kyoudai, but I know I liked the music a lot.
Misaki is something like a mysterious angel...
But I feel she is more charming in comics.
I liked the OP theme better. I can understand the choice of ED, and appreciate how it fits with the story, but I guess it's a matter of personal preference. The OP was light pop but it was catchy, and it had this nostalgic, melancholy feeling to it.
PS. WTF naked apron? Poor Misaki... x_X
http://www.kadokawa.co.jp/hikky/index.php?cnts=event
He's wearing the wrong side out anyhow. :3
The OP is exactly the same as every other anime theme ever. Except for the first few chords which are exactly the same as the first Eureka 7 OP. The animation is awesome, but the song is just plain dull.
The ED, on the other hand, is so awesome that my head explodes just like Satou's.
Manga >>>> Anime.
Novel >>>> Manga
Incorrect. The storytelling and pacing is far superior in the anime. Don't fall into the different-means-bad trap.

Terrible 80's taste...
The blue guys are painfully toyetic. Even as I complain about it, I want one...
"toyetic" indeed... :3

Welcome to the NHK! 03v2 Revision
Posted by deathbygirl on July 29th, 2006
As previously promised, we’ve rectified the error displayed on-screen around the 16:54 mark. This version features the following changes (and no others). Note, however, that if you are unable to use context clues to figure things out during the episode itself, then you won’t receive any solace here.
Full Changelog:
02:01 Removed a quotation mark in the beginning of the sentence.
02:03 Removed a quotation mark from the end of the sentence.
02:21 Changed line to
“She’ll look down on you if you show her a galge?”
16:54 Changed “twelve” to “a hundred and twenty”.

The pacing is too fucking slow and the animu focuses too much on drama which wasn't the manga's strong point to begin with. I don't want to pity the main character. It's supposed to more of a comedy. Plus the music feels really out of place.
> I don't want to pity the main character. It's supposed to more of a comedy.
Then the whole thing is flying way, way above your head.
How is the Oyasumi sub compared to ADTRW?
They have less translation errors; I think we average about three an episode. They are wapanese. They haven't dropped the series; I have, because we never work on anything that would involve duplicating effort.
Since nobody has put out an avi for 2, I'll do it just for all the people with video rooms or crappy hardware players. That will have no errors.
That's not just silly considering that there are very good and exactly equivalent English words, but the phrasing is incredibly awkward and borderline incorrect, too.
>>19
They're pretty good, no major issues with episode 3. Shame ADTRW dropped it, though - I preferred their translation of the first two episodes. Are you guys still working on Kamisama Kazoku?
I wish the anime would speed up things between Misaki and Satou. The slower pace makes the anime seem a lot less dark than the manga, I think >>17 is completely mistaken.
> Are you guys still working on Kamisama Kazoku?
Yes.
Random Otasu-sama, but where might I be able to aquire episodes two and three? I haven't been able to find it in my usual channels.
I just watched the first 7 episodes, and I plan on finishing the series as it's released. But what the hell was up with episode 4?? The animation was so terrible, it was painful to watch.
Also, for the love of god, does anyone know if the Pururin song is available yet?
That masturbation scene in episode 1 was um . . . yeah
I think this trumps the oral sex scene in Hanaukyo Maid Tai
If all you've seen is episode 1, there are many more masturbation scenes yet to come.
So despite my excitement for this series, I haven't actually started following it yet, because I've been holding off in the hopes that somebody other than Oyasumi would sub it, because I really didn't enjoy their subs of PPD. Doesn't seem much chance of that at this point, though. So how does their NHK sub look?
>>30
Their subs are pretty good. Understand, PPD was their first project as a group, so they didn't really have it together.
NHK is okay group quality. (And I'm not just saying that because I know some of the staff.)
I'm so annoyed. The OST came out, and it didn't even have the Pururin song on it.
I hope it's coming in a separate release, with all the various, slightly-different versions of the song on a single CD. It would be good to have the ring tone version too. :-D
Dammit, no Plrin song :( . There has to be somewhere I can get that.
IT'S NOT PLRIN
IT'S PURURIN
FANSUB IS SHIT
35 is correct too, the katakana says Pururin. It's kinda like the difference between Ice Cream and Aisukurimu, technically both are correct. Plus Plrin looks terrible.
"Aisukurimu" is never correct, you nutter. Even if you spelled it correctly.
>>38
Corret Japanese romanization, perhaps.
But isn't it "Soft Cream"?
>>38 Lol, so true, so true.
I know Plrin is the correct romanization but it's like Lugia from Pokemon, I'd much prefer calling him Rugia like I did before I saw the romanization. Lugia just sounds like a giant booger.
>>39 Sofutokurimu is soft serve ice cream like what you might buy at a soda fountain or an old fashioned ice cream store if you can find one. The last one I knew of here went out of business two years ago.
Has anyone found the Plrin song yet? I think it's about time it has shown up somewhere.
This is a great show.
I've really a-ba-ba-liked it so far.
a million internets for anyone who posts the lyrics
>>44
I have no idea how many times I've listened to that song so far.
I think I may like the Anime better than the manga...I saw the first Anime episode. It wasn't that bad...but I just started to read the manga...I think I'm going to PUKE! O.O I was actually thinking about giving it to an otaku in the Anime Club....--.--...I cannot believe that is what guys think about....
Please elaborate.
pururin pururururin :O
>>44
we need better source, where the heck is this from if there is not a single / ost what has this?
>>54
I tried to find out where they got it from, but never got a reply from the person who posted it.
Maybe a manga extra?
Gonzo did a crap job at animating this. But the story is too good and too real to pass up. This anime shows the darkside of Japanese culture.
>>56
Respectfully disagree. The level of detail is very good and the style of animation captures the intended mood of the show rather well. I don't remember having taken particular note of a bit of tobacco smoke rising out of an empty beer can before, but maybe that's just me being an animu lightweight.
Though I am a Japanese, I hear it in what I do not understand, and is there it with a drum for any culture?
Bokusatsu Tenshi... pururin pururururin!!!!
I didn't think this show would be that good, but I saw one episode and I was hooked. I even wrote a similar story for a creative essay I had to write for English.
I stopped watching near the end of that off-line meeting arc, but I just picked it up again a few days ago, and I've gotta say, thanks to FFXI references and Yamazaki's general awesomeness, this show has redeemed itself in my opinion.
I'm really going to miss Yamazaki. I hope he comes back. Without him, it's just going to be Satou sitting inside his room doing nothing and that girl unsuccessfully trying to change him.
Gee, I think we need a spoiler tag on this board.
>>63
I would think that people who weren't keeping up with the series wouldn't be reading this. Besides, my post was vague.
>>64
Yeah, but the thread keeps staying bumped and some of us just read down the page.
>>62
I totally agree. I was so sad when Yamazaki left for home on the train... that song "Kagerou Ressha" captured the mood brilliantly.
Yamazaki!!! modore yo! cries
If he hadn't left, then Satou never would have happened upon the realization that he is the supreme creator of the universe.
Does anyone know the ringtone of yamazaki in chapter 3?
