There's also the option I'm considering.. A good friend of mine is taking a permanent position in Japan as an English teacher, and has offered to put me up in his apartment once he's settled.. Assuming I could land a significant job there (assuming I finally snap at my current day job), that would be an easy way to move. Even if I decline on any official moving, I can still stay with him while visiting, saving on some travel expenses and having a local friend to travel with.
