I'm running out of things to watch =(, so could some of you suggest some Anime?

My favorites are Uta-Kata and CCS, so anything similar would be great.

Uta-Kata and CCS?

YOU GIRLY MAN. GET OUT OF HERE.

Umm, try Fruits Baskets, then.

I don't get how people can watch that without cracking up. I mean, I saw this one episode on /a/tv a while back, where the xbox-hueg guy attacks a tank barehanded and, get this, kicks it until it explodes. It'd be funny if it didn't seem like it was entirely serious.

It's actually very tragic and serious, despite the visual silliness.

Kaleido Star. I highly recommend it. If like anything, it's closer to CCS than Uta-kata. It's a magical girl story about a girl named Sora Naegino who goes to the USA to be part of the Kaleido Stage. Of course, that's if you haven't seen it already. If you haven't and would like to know more, I suggest looking it up. X3

Gakuen Alice. I dunno if the subs ever finished. Also Ultra Maniac. Both about magic and school life.

12 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-01-23 07:23 ID:1H4dsUZk

Rozen Maiden is my favorite anime.

13 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-01-23 16:22 ID:/3wZ7aJI

Full Moon wo Sagashite.

Nanoha?

14 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-01-23 19:21 ID:dA92BtHu

>>7 yes! paranoia agent! are there other titles like that one? Jigoku Shoujo was similar (most episodes basically standalone stories)

Now those are the good anime for me

> Gakuen Alice. I dunno if the subs ever finished.

note to self: finish subs

I concur with >>13 on Nanoha -- although it starts iffy, you get into its sequel Nanoha A's and BAM, you're in business.

17 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-01-24 13:29 ID:Heaven

Nanoha is the perfect show for pedos, so yes!

I totally adored Kaleido Star. One of my favorites, but... You said it's a magical girl story. Kinda confuzzles me. There's nothing magical girlish about it-- I mean, in the case of transforming or magical powers and stuff, since that's what comes to mind.

Nana 6/17 was always really enjoyable. And... I dunno if it's been suggested already or not, but Princess Tutu is full of win.

I recommend lamune or ramune if you want a nice sweet anime that you can relax and watch. the animation is really 3rd rate, but damn, its so relaxing to watch it for some reason.

Genshiken. Strongly recommended.

Or if, like me, you've got a harem "comedy" streak, Love Hina, Negima (both of 'em) and, uh, Zero No Tsukaima might work too. Lately I've been watching Battle Programmer Shirase; being as it's only 15 episodes of 15 minutes each (less if you skip the intro and outro), you won't lose much even if you don't like it.

25 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-02-04 17:52 ID:ogNe7jx5

zero no tsukaima is entirely about some old japanese guy's fantasy of being dominated by a loli

that said, it's recommended!

Recommend me some loli hentai. I figure if there is so much manga, at least a small percentage must have been animated.

Let's make this a "recommend us anime, oh mountain-dwelling experts" thread, shall we? There haven't been many replies to the OP recently, and the title is pretty much bang on.

Just finished watching REC. Please suggest other anime in a similar vein.

More generally, is there is a way to look up anime titles by rough categorization, perhaps similar to what was previously implemented at danbooru?

28 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-02-22 12:52 ID:EZVwN+mV

REC? I little bit tricky, that. Maybe Kimi ga Nozomu Eien/Rumbling Hearts?

29 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-02-24 22:17 ID:9UaTlbYr

I recomend FLCL, I think its an amazing anime. It may seem very wierd, but its an anime that makes a lot of sense if you look underneath all the oddness. It illustrates comming of age and the issues of growing up pretty well.

30 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-03-03 11:58 ID:PWQqZW4e

Similar to REC, huh? That's a tough one. I agree on the Kimi ga Mozomu Eien. Maybe Tsukuyomi, as well? If you've seen and liked Zero no Tsukaima, Tsukuyomi is a definite recommend.

Just finished watching Black Lagoon. I marathon'd my way through the entire second season today. I don't watch a lot of anime, or a lot of TV in general for that matter, but I thought it was pretty damn awesome. Also, some time back, someone on /a/ said Rock dies. I believed them... Creepy murderer children ftw.

32 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-03-03 21:57 ID:gO+mVfa3

There's very little like REC out there in anime form, but if you're willing to read the Living Game manga has a somewhat similar premise and tone.

I just finished watching Koi Kaze. This series is a take upon the theme of an incestuous relationship and its place in society. If you can stomach this subject, you'll find this to be a work that's worth watching. There is no hentai of any sort, but it does deal with some serious issues about the feelings of man and his sister. I liked it because even though I knew the futility of this relationship, I remained compelled to continue watching.

I finished Ergo proxy. I saw the first 10 mins about 4 months ago and didn't watch the rest, but this time I sat through the first episode and I was hooked. The story is sci, about this city that every thing is precisely balanced and under control, but there is something big fucked up. It has a nice mix of romance, adventure, Sci-fi and mystery. everything is there. Also it has very good animation. some of the highest quality.

35 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-03-08 05:02 ID:W28WXWqy

Air is very good. It was one of those anime I never heard much about and only happened to watch by chance. Don't be turned off by the fact that the original Air was a PC eroge. A non-ero pc version of it was released due to it's popularity and the anime is clean as well. It really has no action at all, just a great story with detailed animation and an amazing sound track.

Milk junkies. No, seriously.

37 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-03-08 06:42 ID:3NKUjRwI

Anime for closet pedophiles? Ichigo Mashimaro. (Which is like one of my favourite series actually).

But I would definitely recommend Gunslinger Girl. Watch it all.

porn

40 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-03-09 19:52 ID:Vd0AEu/g

It's a hardcore hentai, but Mahou Shoujo Ai is a fairly good drama actually...

41 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2008-01-05 12:24 ID:gE2++9WG

I just discovered Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, and I like it a lot.

Are there any other really good shows of the "ultraviolent psycho bishoujo" type?
