Do women actually have real interests like men do? (42)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2009-04-11 02:19 ID:7gSBQJtb

No, seriously.

The ONLY thing that women seem to care about is sex, relationships and beautifying themselves.

Women's lives follow predictable patterns, they are bored when they dont have a man and happy when they do have one, and cannot stop talking about him when they do have him.

I mean seriously, look at women's interests. When they claim to be 'nerdy' its basically a 'geek chic' image thing for them. Everything revolves around image: The Aesthetic.

No substance whatsoever.

Just sex, relationships and boyfriends.

Wow, look who's talking.

to be fair, 99% of women (and people in general) are shitty.

5 Name: Anonymous : 2009-04-13 03:22 ID:H9tCKvYk

Heh, the geek chic thing makes sense. A lot of celebrites always claim they are geeky in that they liked science or math in school.

My question, how geeky are they? If they like math, do they even know the quadratic equation? Do they know what its for?

Just shut the fuck up and make more movies.

It may just be my line of work, but a lot of the women I know are deep into very strange things. One collects dead snakes off the highway. She weighs the remains and plots them into spreadsheets... for fun. The woman that works with me catalogs fatal car crashes and keeps a tally of how many have died in the county, again for fun. She gets immensely excited by big car crashes that make the national news and will not stop talking about them when they pop up. Predictably, no one in my company is married or even in a relationship except for top supervisors with unrelated business degrees... By the way, the men are entirely the same, except they tend to shower less.

So yes, none of the women that you would actually date have any outside interests or hobbies.

Presumably, they're only capable of one obsessive hobby, and the bulk of them are ONLY into relationships. My suggestion is researching some surgical means of doubling the brain capacity of those women with outside interests to create the super woman. A forced eugenics program might work too.

>>9 what line of work are you in? Are you funeral directors? Morticians? Crime Scene Investigators?

Well, I know plenty of girls, and most of them are interested in Movies, Books, TV, and Games. My fiance likes books first, movies second, tv third, and games last. Her sister likes Manga first, Books Second, Tv Third, Games fourth, and Movies Last.

Pretty much all the girls I know like books, Movies/Tv, and games.

Yeah, most women are only interested in bagging the richest husband possible and spending his money on shoes and four dollar cups of coffee.

But most men are only into skirt-chasing and getting drunk.

Instead of calling them beautiful, there would be more warrant for describing women as the un-aesthetic sex. Neither for music, nor for poetry, nor for fine art, have they really and truly any sense or susceptibility; it is a mere mockery if they make a pretence of it in order to assist their endeavor to please. Hence, as a result of this, they are incapable of taking a purely objective interest in anything; and the reason of it seems to me to be as follows. A man tries to acquire direct mastery over things, either by understanding them, or by forcing them to do his will. But a woman is always and everywhere reduced to obtaining this mastery indirectly, namely, through a man; and whatever direct mastery she may have is entirely confined to him.
And so it lies in woman's nature to look upon everything only as a means for conquering man; and if she takes an interest in anything else, it is simulated--a mere roundabout way of gaining her ends by coquetry, and feigning what she does not feel. Hence, even Rousseau declared: Women have, in general, no love for any art; they have no proper knowledge of any; and they have no genius.

Also opinions stated as facts make me laugh. Hard.

When you're told "This is what you like doing, this is what makes you happy" for just about all of your externally conscious life, yeah, that's what you're going to be happy doing. Society tells us that we like looking cute and pretty and beautiful, and that our highest calling is to socialize with other people to show off how pretty we are. Not that it's a bad thing, though I never grew up thinking like that. (Thank you, kind uncle who lent my family his Genesis and I learned to love the vidya.) You could say I have a real interest in programming and in East Asian languages, as I have put down hours of study towards each and plan to continue, because I genuinely like them, but I could point to other women in my major who chose it only to appeal to a demographic of men. Doesn't bother me.

22 Name: Anonymous : 2009-07-09 11:39 ID:RfSbCz0h

Well I can't speak in general, man, but I've met some women who only give a shit about men for sex, and even then only in passing (the classic case is a girl I met at college who plays WoW in her parents' place all day long last I heard of her), and I've met some women who are reasoned, balanced beings who I really admire. I've also met some utter cumdumpsters who want to shop all day and run their rich husbands around on leashes for their entertainment.

Likewise for men, I've met some great blokes, and some utter douchebags... I think there are a few more in that category in the female gender in our society simply because we tell them they should be like that. Ever walked around fashion and shoe stores these days? They seriously scream FEMALES SHOULD HAVE ORGASMS OVER THIS SHIT at you from every angle -- it's small wonder a lot have trouble resisting.

This thread is filled of males who have a hard time complimenting a woman's talent, or admitting defeat to a woman. Therefore they feel it necessary to attribute a woman's success back to themselves somehow. Namely, this applies to >>18.

OP claims that women are vain, but he demonstrates a male flaw just as bad: egotism.

24 Name: Anonymous : 2009-07-09 16:04 ID:Au8bfhPG

>The ONLY thing that women seem to care about is sex

That seems more like a male trait.

>relationships

No.

>beautifying themselves

Not really, but I probably shower more than the OP.

>When they claim to be 'nerdy' its basically a 'geek chic' image thing for them.

Yes. Which is why I waste so much of my time reading and drawing. It's not because it's something I enjoy doing, nooooo! It's all an image for me.

What an awful generalization. Women do that. Men do that. This is never true for all men or women. Ever thought of travelling? You know, vacation, soul trip, name it whatever you want. Meet different people from different backgrounds, and what I can guarantee is that you'll find women different than the ones you described.

Perhaps you still won't like them, but they'll be different. Do you realize you can say the same things about men, just by changing a few key words? For instance, boyfriend with 'football' or 'sports' in general. I could say...
"for men, it's just friends, having fun and sex"

friends includes all social relationships, having fun includes all activities that particular man enjoys, and sex is sex. As you see, most men fit that description quite well. But thinking about myself, I don't. There's at least one man that does not fit that description, it's quite likely there's more men that don't, and there's also WOMEN that don't fit your description.

Why do you care what women like?

34 Name: Anonymous : 2009-07-16 19:00 ID:5wZuSoZn

Actually....if they aren't in the kitchen, or in the bed, women need to be doing something productive(cleaning, gardening, going to work) or guarding my valuables with a semi automatic shotgun.

They can be interested in that.

35 Name: Anonymous : 2009-07-17 23:24 ID:a2ccfzay

design = arranging the couches properly for our superbowl party

taking care of others = getting beers from the fridge
having fun = giving blowjobs

yes, i believe this is satisfactory

Well if you look in this year's the Comic Market catalogs, I'd swear about half of everything in there is geared towards/created by women.

So much yaoi at comiket, as has always been the case, really.
Didn't they initially outnumber the men?
