I've been debating as to whether I want to see the TV series or not. On one hand, I do want to see it because I greatly enjoy the Densha Otoko story and I would like to see what sets it and the movie apart (besides the different actors/actresses of course), but on the other hand I don't want to see it because I'm afraid it will ruin my coughveryhighcough opinion of the movie.
Bleeeeeh, I guess it's one of those catch 22 things, ne? ^^;

Densha Otoko DX sucked. Aside from that, the entire TV series was pure gold.

I liked DX, I was depressed after the ending of the series as I am when I watch all good anime and read good manga so I was happy to see DX... even though I was again depressed to see it end once again... lol

The one saving grace of DX was all the twitching bodies in the wake of Jinkama-san.
The movie is utter shit.
The shojo manga looks like crap too.
The shonen manga is surprisingly refreshing and pretty good.
The original novel was pretty cool, if you don't mind the 2chan speak it's written in, but then again if you're here you might not mind.
Though I don't know if it's translated in any language, and I wonder how well it would translate, with all the 2chan culture it's filled with. I just have the original and kind of am scared of any translations that might be made, since it will be hard to translate all the stuff... even if they go for 4chan equivalents.

And yeah, the movie fucking sucks. All of the characters, especially the imageboard users, are incredibly uninteresting in the movie, where, in the show, there were occasional subplots for them and stuff. Each of them had their own thing. It was amazing.
Eeeeh? I love the movie - ok, mainly for Takayuki Yamada as an uber-cute geek. But still, I thought it was good. Of course, I saw the movie before I even knew about the TV series.
There's a shonen AND a shojo manga adaptation? O___o
