Do any of you like to draw Manga style?

I love it, and frankly, I think it's sort of like an addiction...
When I'm bored in class, I just doodle and it turns into an anime character.. xD
I started when I was in fourth grade and then it gradually got better. Of course, I'm not as good as pros yet, but I'm getting closer everyday! >__< just practicing is all I do. I wish they taught this style in art class, but unfortunately, I could not find any Art studios that teach this style, so I've had to teach myself. :/

So what about you guys?

Yeah, I draw manga style. I can't help it. It's like an incurable disease. I try and I try to draw people normally but they always come out with manga-styled features.

I seem to have this bastardized style of drawing that's manga with hints of western in it. Too many cartoons @.@

When I draw, I normally draw characters which have the features of characters in manga. However, the doodles are never as good as the ones in any manga I have read and I'm not sure I like my style of drawing very much. I'm not consistant and I always draw the same poses.
I don't think 'Manga style' is the correct terminology to use though, as there are lots of different styles not just one. I get what you mean.. but the phrase still bugs me.

I always draw faces and poses in school since i get so bored. like >>4 im not consistent either, i can never draw the same character twice.
I also started around 4th grade too and i kept some of my "art" (if you can call it that) from back then and it wsa nice to see the transitions i saw in my drawings up until now.

I also draw manga style..well i'm not completely sure whether is anime or manga..same diff lol.
I have always like art and wanted to be a manga artist or designer. Now i'm very fond of the Manga style and have decided i would take my new drawing seriously and try to create a novel...or a graphic novel using the plot i wrote in one of the other threads!
It will be called. Rainbow midnight magic: Wand of perfect harmony
The main character will be called Rainight she will posess the midnight rainbow wand and a perferct harmony pendant called the rainbow dream gem. All the girls in the Mystical midnight dream gang transform into wolves at night and meet up in their secret headquarters...Midnight Wolf NightClub. It's some night club all the highschool kids try and sneek into lol!
Okay i'm getting a little to into deoth, sorry! I'll stop now!

Oh man XDDDD in class during stupid movies i get so BORED! i barely pay attention, and end up drawing these amazing demon things with blood >.> or sometimes a cute loli girl >.> either way it's funny to see peoples reactions when they randomly look over and see this drawing and go "WHAT THE HELL!?!??!"

XDDD i can't wait to get better.... I'm more consistant now.... seriously, if you want to learn how to draw manga/anime style well, get some How to Draw Manga books from Borders or something... they really help. Also, they are detailed in all areas, so you won't have to worry about those awkward questions on how to draw breasts or something of the sort.

another good source is Mark Crilly on youtube... his style is a little westernized, but the basics for everything but the head are pretty good. http://www.youtube.com/user/markcrilley

You guys should get out of the habit of only drawing in a manga style if you ever want to draw anything properly. Go back to it if you want after you learn to draw people well. Better to develop your own style than mimic another.

Yeah I do, it sucks I can't draw anything else other than manga style. When I try to draw people more realistically I screw up and give them those manga eyes ffffff.

If you want to do more realistic faces, draw at a larger scale than you usually do, that will offset your reflex to do manga eyes.

After that you'll learn and be able to do it at any scale.

I like drawing in manga style, I've also done life drawing and realistic paintings and whatnot. Just enjoying drawing is the most important thing

Once I started drawing manga style, I got really into it. Then a year later, I tried drawing more realistically and it came out like manga style no matter how much I tried to alter the eyes, facial structure, etc.

It's freaky how an art style can do this.
But overall, I like drawing manga style and always doodle on the side of my page at school.

I hate my drawing style... Since I slouch in my chair at school, all the facial features and their waist is all Streeacched out so you have to look at them at an angle. I'm not very creative on what to draw so all my characters come out manga-like. Stil, people in my class were like,"You draw amazing" and I say in my head, Are they crazy? I'm horrible!

I study other mangakas' styles and see what sets them apart from me and other artists. Manga is nice because for me, it helps you relax... -w-
