Top-posting. Don't you just hate it ? It's simple, first there is a question and then comes the answer. So, exactly why are some people putting their answer on top of the question ? That's just stupid and confusing.

Example:

Top-posting, because it breaks order in which people read.

I blame Microsoft.

Not all communication is in question-answer format.
At least they're providing some context, even if it's clumsy.

Eh. I don't mind top-posting if*f* it's one unified block of text, and not interspersed throughout the post.

If I know that is how the person writes, though, I only get mixed up a few times.

I still mind it. It's disorienting. And senders should remove from their quote any parts of the original message that they do not address.

I've actually been in circumstances where having the entire farging conversation was nice. (They all basically boiled down to: shit happens, people are slowly added to CC list, somebody realizes "Oh shit! >>6 needs to know about this!" and adds me to the CC list. So, yeah, poor communication, but this happens sometimes in large organizations.)

The thing about top posting is that it gets readers to what they're actually interested in fastest: the answer to their email.

That having been said, top-posters have annoyed me since my Usenet days. stabs
