NHK live
In the first nuclear plant in Fukushima of Tokyo Electric Power Company in Fukushima Prefecture, to cool the nuclear reactor safely in two nuclear power plants that stopped due to the earthquake, it was judged that it was unnecessary and the ability to do it becoming impossible to use all of "Diesel generator for the emergency" and continuing cooling was not enough. Therefore, Tokyo Electric Power Company did the report that informed them of "Emergency" at 5:00PM to Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry based on Special Law on Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures following the report of "Extraordinary happenings" that had been done at 4:00PM. Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency advances the confirmation, and is examining information about the correspondence in the future. The influence outside of the leakage of the radioactive substance at present etc. is not in the first nuclear power plant in Fukushima. Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency keeps observing it continuously. After this law is enforced in 2000, it is the first time that the report that informed them of "Emergency" was done based on Special Law on Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures.

That's a big one. Wait, the BIGGEST one. Holy hell.

If you are in Hawaii or on the west coast of USA/Canada, stay away from the water!

From the AP:

TOKYO – A massive tsunami spawned by the largest earthquake in Japan's recorded history slammed the eastern coast Friday, sweeping away boats, cars, homes and people as widespread fires burned out of control. Tsunami warnings blanketed the entire Pacific, as far away as South America, Canada, Alaska and the entire U.S. West Coast.

Authorities said at least 40 people were killed and 39 missing after the magnitude 8.9 offshore quake unleashed a 23-foot (7-meter) tsunami. The quake was followed by at least 19 aftershocks, most of them of more than magnitude 6.0. The death toll was likely to continue climbing given the scale of the disaster.

Dozens of cities and villages along a 1,300-mile (2,100-kilometer) stretch of coastline were shaken by violent tremors that reached as far away as Tokyo, hundreds of miles (kilometers) from the epicenter.

Im watching this since early this morning (gmt) just when it happened. Seeing that wave live sweeping away houses and cars off the road trying to flee was pretty unnerving. I'm sure many of those people I saw were killed. Sendai and many other cities are completely destroyed and it appears with no emergency services or anybody there to help yet. Horrible stuff.

The meltdown continues.

Near Fukushima: 3 mSv/hour with some estimates as high as 400 mSv/hr nearer the accident.
By comparison, near Chrenobyl: up to 300,000 mSv/hr

The Three Mile Island incident was a one-time dose of 0.08-1 mSv and can hardly be quantified in terms of mSv/hr.

Background radiation on average is 2mSv/YEAR.

Noticeable sickness begins around 1,000 mSv in a 24 hour period and possible death after 10,000. We're not quite at the end of the world yet, but this is extremely bad.

I'm Japanese since was born.

The previous earthquake damage was not, I live in the affected areas in terms of supplies and transit.
On top of that, I'm angry to reaction in other countries.

Japanese engineers will never neglected their lives, waiting for the Japanese to work hard to restore electricity for his life.

People in the country without earthquakes are protesting against to "Nuclear power is dangerous!" and continue to measure radioactivity.

I got angry about those reaction. Its reaction is ridiculous.

Japanese victims are in most danger of radioactivity, nevertheless do not have any food or blankets, even his house gas electricity and water, infomation.

I was disappointed, to those who worry about your's country's nuclear power.

The earthquake occurred on Miyagi, on Niigata and Nagano.
At the yesterday,The earthquake occurred in Shizuoka.
(Shizuoka is on the Mt. Fuji land).
This is an unprecedented in Japanese .
That large earthquakes are not ever in a short time.
The epicenter of the earthquake is happening at all different positions.
We don't know where earthquakes on occurs next.
All Japanese is very scary.
Japanese are eager to recover for the minimum lifeline.

To you who live in a country without an earthquake, maybe you do not know the feelings of the Japanese.
Japan is confronting problems that are a big earthquake and tsunami. Never,Japanese problem is not at nuclear power.

You guys should thank God that there are no earthquakes.
Earthquake is scary than nuclear power.

Earthquakes. There are dangers of radioactivity. No electricity, no food , no house. And missing is family and friends.
Can you understand? So much fear and crisis.

I can not English. So I wrote using to the Google translator and dictionary.
I think there is a strange English. Please forgive me. I wrote over many hours.
But I, as a Japanese person, I want to say to foreign people.

43 Name: Unverified Source : 2011-03-16 22:21 ID:zX8e6rog

Every day, I watch Japan and the world's news at Internet and TV and Twitter.
I think it sad news in the world.
Please listen to you the opinion of a Japanese.
And if your company has influence in the world, I believe public opinion will surely change.

Whole world people should be grateful to didn't immediately destroyed at nuclear power in Fukushima at the earthquake at them.

I gathered some infomation every day in Japan . I know that the world is not nothing for Japanese about the dangers of radiation in Japan.

I am grateful in Japan earthquake disaster relief the all world. But the world has yet to decide about radiation risks in Japan. Too late.

Foreigners in Japan can to get back home to their country. But the Japanese have to be in Japan land only.
The world will be to forsake in Japan, won't you?
Very disappointing. I respected to all countries , but I can't to do current.

I say "Japan not give up" to the world . Please say the world people " Japan fite!" .

Japan is a country with frequent natural disasters.
Japan occurs every year floods for landslides caused by heavy rainfall and typhoons, some years the big earthquake was destroyed the city. But Japan is never lose from natural disasters many times .

Please tell to the world the horrors of the earthquake. Japan assuming a major earthquake destroyed Yet this much.

But victim are many people alive! That came as a big earthquake, but it came as as the big tsunami, but Many People alive!
Nuclear power plant not break yet ! Has not been the worst yet !!

Probably a country without an earthquake do not know no, We are serious about this earthquake as for a war.

It is not about to radioactive. Japan completely changed of the living.

Please tell the Japanese that the hard right.
Please stop the false information properly.
And the world is what to do with Japan, please decide.

Even in a nuclear power plant is bad, if I perish with Japan.
And Japan also features paralyzed prone to major earthquakes in Japan, if I remain in Japan.
But everyone not to speak, I think the Japanese are ready to do so are many.

So, aseismic country, please stop to worry about their country's nuclear plants.

The Japanese as say this is all from me.

Finally say something important.
Japanese culture has been created by both nature and brings many blessings of these natural disasters can not resist.

I saw an article that surprised no looting in the quake zone, in front of the Japanese is that nature in a spirit of equality.
In front of that nature from the spirit of equality, We hang tough.
I think so.

On Twitter (@BRIGADExU_ichi)

I heard for the situation firsthand in Ishinomaki City at Iwate, Japan.
Too bad situation, I get shocked.
Ishinomaki people fasting five days. And have not received relief supplies.
Leaving the dead.
Deterioration in security. This is the biggest concern right now.
Some foreign group take everything from the empty house. Shops destroyed , too. Gasoline theft.
Alone at night is more dangerous than adult males walk.
(3/16, 22:52 in Japan)

Twitter had been around in this Tweet.
Truth is unknown.
If there were plundered by foreigners, if it is a secondary disaster.
Must be stopped.
Please call in English.
Most Japanese people can't English.
Your company power, so please call to stop looting.

In addition, the person in Iwaki City at Fukushima is very cold more and more people are likely to starve or to freezing death.
The foods and goods don't come to carried into Iwaki because "radiation hazard" .
But Iwaki is the risk of radioactivity is very small.
Please carry into Iwaki ! Help !

From Iwaki , twitter people.
Please tell this to the world. The appeal.

Sorry if the word is wrong.
I am Japanese, and write in English to convey the gratitude that I am not good at English.
Because of the earthquake, the affected area has received catastrophic damage. Therefore, in the affected areas are lack of necessary supplies such as food and water to survive, the victim is a very dangerous situation.
The affected areas at risk are also unable to transport goods to satisfy the government and the SDF.
But American people gave me a helicopter to transport food and water forced into a dangerous place to be confirmed not to have security.
Thanks to that, the victims were very encouraging, it could have hope.
I myself are not the disaster area, but for those of you that U.S. military aid to the victims for a very, very much appreciated. Thank you very much.
And you are helping the country for the victims, thank you very much.

I'm Japanese living in Chiba next to Tokyo.
My English may be strange...

I think most ordinary Japanese people hardly have enough scientific knowledge, although Japan's atomic technology level is high. Most Japanese react excessively to medias' reports about the accident in nuclear power plant. For example, last night it was announced by power company that a little slight larger amount of plutonium was measured in the compound of power plant. And it was added that most of plutonium have been existed originally, and some were brought by nuclear tests in foreign countries in the past. But many Japanese people wouldn't listen to that facts. They are confused with the word "plutonium." And so does some foreign media, I think...

And many Japanese are criticizing react of the Government and the power company, as if this earthquake was because of them. They will have to admit some blunder or failure on atomic policy after things settle down. But it's not time to criticize them.

We can't be optimistic about the situation. But being confused without enough knowledge about atomic power or rays, is really absurd.

I am Japanese.

This message was translated by the computer program.

This is a very important story.

Japan destroys the world.

It is not only an accident of the nuclear plant that occurs in FUKUSHIMA.

In Japan, there is fast breeder reactor MONJU.

The device fell in MONJU in 2010.

It is said that restoration is impossible now.

No one can collect the device.

It is necessary to cool MONJU to prevent the accident when almost permanent in the future.

However, the work is very severe. It is difficult to keep cooling it stably.

Moreover, when the earthquake occurs, it becomes a serious situation more than Chernobyl, and the world is wrapped by plutonium.

It is understood that it is a state of emergency because the person in charge of recovery efforts committed suicide last August.

Moreover, there is HAMAOKA nuclear plant in Japan.
It is said by the specialist the most dangerous nuclear plant in the world.

The content that Japanese Government announces is different from the fact.

I'm Japanese too. So my English might have some error.

Is this movie have you seen already?

This is a press conference for Fukushima newclear plant.
They -TEPCO and Japan government- have no responsibility.
We can see the archives of conferences on internet.
I hope this video is shown to the "NOT JAPANESE" media.
Japanese media are relative with TEPCO and government.

Hi, I'm from Japan too.
I wanna thank everyone around the world for all your support.
Thanks SO MUCH for your praying and donations.
We feel your love.

You know, our government is so useless and TEPCO is such an asshole company...
They never tell the truth; they hide all the information we need.
We don't know what to believe.
We're all tired and angry.
Almost every single industry in Japan has been affected by fucking TEPCO & the nuke plants.
Many people have lost their homes, lands, or jobs.
They're polluting the air, the water, the land... maybe everything.
Plus, we still get strong aftershocks...

But I won't give up my hope 'cause you guys around the world are with us.

Again, thanks so much.
