Sleipnir is better than firefox for me.
you don't need to install too many add-ons to sustainable to use.

18 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-10-05 15:16 ID:KKjNF+IO

For me, it's important to be using a browser that many other people are using. I want to be sure that the web will look the way it should through my browser, so I'm weary of using smaller market-share, fringe alternatives.

you know it's funny how google has overtaken the world - the single most important reason I use FF and never Opera is thet the google notebook extension works only on FF (and IE but that peace of crap doesn count as a browser lol)
I actually just noted this hread to my google notebook..

thanks OP for the news I just blogged about sleipnir. It's actually pretty epic - there have been only three browsers for windows up ot this date

22 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-10-06 13:26 ID:J5ZtxwM3

Maxthon what the hell is that?
um and people who use IE6 could just go and die and save the bandwidth consumption

23 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-10-06 14:52 ID:J5ZtxwM3

oops i'm dumb - sleipnir uses either trident or gecko wich makes it the same as maxthon.

I can't understand what good point FF has...

39 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-10-20 22:47 ID:JUGwGDQr

It's really nice. What are you comparing it to?
Compared to IE, it's slick, simple, clear, fast, safe, and practical. For the longest time, it had such obvious features IE didn't, like tabbed browsing, popUp blocker, and built-in google search bar.
The thing about IE, is that when it finally gets the features, it implements them along with a ton of clutter FF has been good at avoiding.

Lolifox, XeroBank, Konqueror, Links, PSP's browser, DSOrganize's browser, Minimo, Wii's browser, and if need-be, Epiphany or K-Ninja as backups to Konqueror/Lolifox, respectively.

Tried but didn't like Opera, Safari, IE, Songbird, Flock, SeaMonkey, Avant, IEMobile, or Amaya. Still need to look at Sleipnir, Maxthon, Kazehakase, and w3m.

Of course, everyone should really only ever use Links, Dillo, or Swift.

Aw. I was hoping to see w3m reviewed.

On that note, I just found and fixed a couple form-related w3m bugs that were making LiveJournal's OpenID server not work. w3m put an extra carriage return/newline at the end of URL-encoded form content, and when a form didn't specify an action URL (thus implying the current URL), w3m would strip off query strings (so it would post to /whatever.pl instead of /whatever.pl?this=that&id=whatever&etc=etc). And I have an old workaround in my copy to make ".domain.com" (valid for all subdomains) cookies work, not a fix because I don't really understand the issue there.

I should post my fixes on the w3m list or something, but I'm lazy.

I like CLI browsers for compat testing (Well, if it's reasonably useable in a CLI browser, then it's usually reasonably useable in a screen reader and in older browsers, too), and for when there just isn't any other way I can browse the internet (Not every machine needs X).

Other than that, nice and bloated GUI pls. I like my firefox extensions.

93 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2008-01-22 12:53 ID:O2Vtz4J/

CLI browsers support CSS and JavaScript lately anyway.

94 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2008-01-22 22:29 ID:dQtHo5Sg

By the way, I think we mean text-based, or terminal-based browsers. Not really CLI.

Although a real command-line browser does exist (I haven't tried it): http://twill.idyll.org/
