I want to question for American.
Person what percentage has a cellular phone?
I heard the other day that sixty percent of Americans have cell phones.
I have one, but I don't like it and don't use it often.
Hello Japanese!
Japaneseさんの英語は上手ですよ。^^
I wish that I could say the same for my Japanese -_-;
http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m4021/is_2_25/ai_97818962/print
Yes, it is somewhere around 60 or 70 percent.
I have a question. You've probably heard of ハーッドゲイ, right?
I've seen a few parts of his show. It was very funny, although most Americans would be a little confused, wwwww. Is he as popular in Japan as he seems to be?
And one more, although I hope I'm not asking too many questions. Have you ever been in 東北? Maybe Sendai? I would like to go there some day. What do you think of the place?
What kind of computer do you use?
(´・ω・`) 東京付近の海辺に行きたいんですが、どこがいいですか。
>>23

>>24
Thank you for answering!!
ハードゲイ, He is not popular though he is famous in Japan.
Especially, the adult dislikes him.
I do not like him so much.
I went to 東北 in the school excursion.
Tohoku is a calm, good place. It is cold in winter there.
I prayed that you be able to enjoy!!!(≧▽≦)

Have you played ロコロコ/LOCOROCO? Do you like it?
>>28
What is pedos?(´Д`)
I fully have the English word doesn't know(ノд`。)
>>29
A Japanese man is serious.
The person who becomes crazy in the world of the anime is a part.
I think that the Japanese is withdrawing into one's own world.
Therefore, it is said it is obedient from foreign countries…(´へ`)
The United States is wonderful because there are a lot of energetic people!!
>>30
I examined it.
http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/locoroco/
This has not been put on the market yet…(T□T)
If the friend buys it, I will hear the impression!!

Hello!!people of the world!
Japan is tonight now.

>>37
How you are envied with PSP!
I want to save up money(^▽^)
The game that you introduced is very wonderful!
CG of the game is very real and cool.
I regret that there is no Japanese…(TДT)
>>38
Is 'HARUHI' that you say 'Melancholy of HARUHI SUZUMIYA '?
If it is the anime, I am loved!
The anime becomes popular very much in Japan^^
I think there is an event of the animated cartoon in California to be wonderful.
I am wishing that you can enjoy the event!!
>>39
A favorite anime cartoon is'GINTAMA'(〃▽〃)
It is a SAMURAI anime that started in April.
It is made English, the title is a meaning of silversoul.

I have not had the Eroge…(´Д`)

Turns out I won't go to California.
The airplane tickets are too expensive.
Anime conventions in the USA are much different from Japan-- you can't just take the train across the country! It's too large!
So, there are dozens of different events in different places.
If I lived in Japan I would go to Comiket every time.
But then again, I would probably go to Akihabara every day anyway!
ゲーマーズ... a paradise!
43-san, you can take the train across the US.
It will take several days, however. >_<;
Hello, >>1-san.
Which company do you prefer; Nintendo or Sony?
Hello!!people of the world!
Japan is a midsummer day today.
However, I stop away from school and am doing the Internet(´ー`)y-~~
>>43
The United States is 25 times Japan.
I think the not more imaginable it of me is, the wider!
I regret the thing that you cannot go to California.
If you are Otaku, Japan might be comfortable for you.
Otaku gathers from a Japanese inside in Comike.
Moreover, the event such as cosplay has been held Japanese the inside everywhere on the weekend!
There is 20,000 person or more cosplayer in Japan!!

Can you explain what is the Japan Common Knowledge Power Test Association shown in this picture? http://shanachan.konosutekinabasho.net/v/src/1151465757373.gif
Hello!!people of the world!

I am Otaku a little!!
I understand what Otaku says.
I might be Otaku possibly…Σ(゜Д゜|||)
>>48
This problem is very difficult(´-ω-`)
Q.29→A.D
Q.30→A.2
I am confident of the answer of Q.29!!
If the disaster comes, an important guest sits on a seat that is the nearest
the door so that it to be easy run away.
I'm sorry my English ..unskilled... (;´Д`)
>>49
Thank you for your answer. I was hoping you could help me find information about this mysterious "Japan Common Knowledge Power Test Association". Is it not well known in Japan?
To be truthful, I've never heard of JCKPT. Not well known is too beside the point a word is. It's obscure, I'd say.
I can find many artworks and mangas that are related NAZI and German army in WW2
NAZI is accepted in Japan? what about their crimes they had committed?
>>52
It's because it's on the Internet.
You wouldn't see these drawings on the street.
How long would it take to travel from Tokyo to Hokkaido, using a bicycle?
it must take from 10 days to 2 weeks. but take care not to make a mistake that to go on the Route 6. your lungs must turm bluck with the diesel exhaust gus.
do you have a mixi account?
http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/tt/
There is the japanese version of Tourist Trophy!
Enjoy :D

There is no mangas that affirms Nazi as long as I know.
There might possibly be a mangas that denies Nazi.
However, because the mangas is free, it cannot be managed.
There is no religion in the mangas.

>>54
It is very serious.
It will take one month to do it\(;´□`)/

Hello. I have been corresponding by email with a beautiful Japanese woman for four years now. I would like to meet her, but in my current job I work 50-60 hour weeks and am on call 24/7. No vacation time is available.
If I had a job teaching English in Japan, this would allow me to meet her. But I have no college degree. Please tell me, is it possible to teach English in Japan without a college degree?

They love Winnie the Pooh.
A friend of mine went to Tokyo Disney and saw this insanely long line of people... she thought it might be a new ride or something, so she followed it, and followed it, and followed it... and finally when she got to the front of the line, it was pictures with Pooh-san....

A special qualification is necessary for you if it teaches in the junior high school and the high school in Japan.
There is an English conversation school besides those schools.
However, the qualification is necessary for it.
The qualification such as TEFL TESOL CELTA is necessary for teaching at other English conversation schools.
I doesn't know whether a large academic background is necessary to take the qualification.
I think that only has to invite her to your country.
>>61
I saw.
I want to make friends with you(≧▽≦)

The score is performed by using the keyboard of the touch screen along the music score displayed on the display screen.
There are number of tunes of about two months.
To our regret, it is put on the market only in Japan.

Question for anyone:
In anime/manga I often see small characters pop out of fruit or balls and start doing a belly dance. Where did it originate from? I see it a lot... maybe it's not even of Japanese orgin.

What kind of examination? Also, where in Japan do you live?
Oh, and you don't have to apologize for your English. We get it, it's not perfect, still, it's much better than any average Japanese.
IDは下げるとHeavenになります。
We Japanese always apologize before we do something.
I love American dramas, Fullhouse, The A team, Macgyver, Columbo, Startrek, etc...
And I also love English literature.
This is why I want to learn English.

Saataaandagi taste like doughnuts.
It's dry but sweet. It's so delicious.
Saataaandagi is also known as sugar tempura.
You can eat Saataaandagi in Okinawa or Okinawa restaurants.
It isn't a Japanese food, but an Okinawan traditional food.
So, most of Japanese who have never been to Okinawa or its restaurants don't know it.
You watched AzumangaDaiou, don't you?
I like this anime and manga very much!

Aaag! right now it's almost 1 A.M and i cant think of anything to ask you!!! ( >Α<)
I think it isnt important but i want to somehow present myself
I'm 18 years old and I study in one of Madrid's universities, in Spain. if you want to ask me something you can too! i would be honored!
I have always wanted to make friends from japan, so when i saw this thread i was so happy!
Please, let me ask questions to you too! And i'm sorry if my english is too hard to read, i'm not very good either...
Well, let me ask some questions!
When i visited japoan, in narita (?) airport one of the girls showed us the way to our bus and when she went out of the bouilding she turned around to me and said "あつい〜〜!" smiling! I was shocked! I thought japanese people was very diferent to what mangas usualy show, but that definitely a manga reaction!
Do japanese people act like manga characters in some way or another?
And another one:
Why do almost all japanese girls have such a sweet voice? Or its only sweet to us the spanish?
( 〜ω〜) It was so great〜
Thank you for your time!

>>96
a sweet voice ? Oh, I see .
We call them gurriko..ぶっりっ子
ぶっりっ子means pretend to be cute or something,,,it is so difficult to explain.
the word is derived from a female Japanese pop singer,Seiko
Matsuda. She was at her best in 1970's
when she was singing her song at that time, she often winked away as if she coqueted with men.
so we called her カワイ子ぶりっ子back then.
カワイ子means cute,prrtty,etc.
and generally speaking, japanese girls tend to be ぶっり子
You know ,they are so self-conscious.
>>100
LOL How old are you!? Must be more than 35.
I haven't heard the dead word "ぶりっ子" for about 20 years.
>>96
Japanese has pitch accent.
We regard high-pitched accent as polite in unconsciousness.
When Japanese women talk on phone, they talk on deadly high-pitched accent.
They think it polite and it make themselves more charming.
Even when men talk on phone with their superior, you can hear they talk high-pitched.
It made you tempted, I think.
But gaijin who don't like Japanese regard it as childish or unnatural.
http://www.jliu.org/CAJLE/cajle_essay-1.htm
This article will give you more explanation about it.
>>60
hi, Do you still check this thread?
i worked for an English education company.
so i know how a japanese company employs a native english teacher.
first, we prefer someone who has a proper VISA.
if you can get working holiday Visa, at least you can work more than 6 monthes.
some japanese company alwasy seeks native english teacher and basecally your payment will be expensive than japanese people.
but after the end of your working Visa you have to find how to make your Visa longer.
if you graduated a two/fore year college, you still have the chance. the company will arrenge for you.
but if you didn't , unfortunately to renew your Visa is impossible.
the exceptions are to get married with a japanese , become a japanese learning student or to find the other way, and continue to work for the english school more than 3 years. then you will be treated as an expert and the company can provide Visa.
good luck.
>>106
that is true.
but to seek jobs by traveler's Visa is nonsense.
because you cannot get foreigner's ID and that means you canot open your bank account in japan.
so working holiday Visa is the best.
if you have fore year college's degree or three years exprience as an english teacher, the japanese immigration bureau gives employee's Visa.
but the japanese immigration bureau is very strict and live in a foreign country is also hard. so you need to decide very carefully.
quick question what is the difference between:
arigatou gozaimasu
arigatou gozaimashita
domo arigatou
?
1 arigatou gozaimasu
2 arigatou gpozaimasita
3 domo arigatou
1 and 2 are more polite expressions than 3
because gozaimasu is a honorific word.
gozaimasu is present tense and gogaimasita is past tense.
but I think you can use both expressions in the same situation.
I'm a typical Japanese ,so believe me ! lol
arigatou gozaimasu
Thank you に過去形はあるのですか?
