It's like there's barely anyone around on this site. Say Hi if anyone is here.
>I don't really see a problem with people getting driven off because 4-ch does not "look pretty" or whatever.
you dont? what about the problem of to few posters (A.K.A 4chan)?
There should not be any "LIMITING" or "SCARE AWAY" artifacts in a openminded and big BBS.
>If a bunch of people base their first impressions on shiny stuff (or lack thereof), does 4-ch really want them as users?
well yes, 4chan wants them as users. or should i say NEED "them". more people = more discussion
right now, 4chan is a underground community for 4chan/2chan lovers.. let's not keep it that way.
If there is nothing wrong with people who like simplistic design, "2channel ripoff", there should be no problem with people who likes design and "original" stuff.
4-ch is not 4chan. 2chan is not 2channel.
>>79
well, im not.
i know the difference between futaba/2chan & 2channel ect.
+99% of 4-ch browsers know about it.
>>77
it doesnt matter, stay on the subject.
what does matter is that 4-ch hasn't grown so much (i do not know statistics) but it still feels very slow.
So whats the problem here? There are so many people out there who knows about 2channel & love it, yet nobody seems to bother comming here.
>>80
People who do know about 2channel are either a) Japanese (and thus content with 2channel itself) or b) "Westerners". The latter are either content with their ten thousand already existing forums, usenet, IRC, etc. as forms of communication. I figure it'd be hard to "convert" them all in a short ammount of time. Also, while many may have heard about 2channel, 4-ch is a more obscure site in the www. And then there's also that fragmentation of possible userbase with world4ch, although I suspect there's quite a lot of us who visit both 4-ch and world4ch.
tl;dr: I think it just takes time. 4-ch has grown, although it's hardly noticable. Patience is probably the key, there doesn't seem to be a magical remedy for the feeling of slowness.

Since when does 4chan have too few posters? What is your definition of 'too few'? Sure, it isn't Gaia or hueg like Gaia but it has many interesting, intelligent users (see /n/, /p/,&c).
Based on >>80, maybe you should be the one to stay on topic given that you brought up 4chan, which has very little to do with this thread...
Ok.. before anyone else feels special and needs to point out shit..
IM SORRY. I MISSPELLED 4-CH..
i meant 4-ch not 4chan or 4channel.
the same goes with 2chan/futaba & 2channel..
