So guys... do you guys know many femal Otaku?
Do you even date one??
I got a otaku-girlfriend, she also draws doujinshi.
Shes more like a doujin-otaku.
I'm an Anime, Manga & Game Otaku.
What Otaku-types match the most?? i really wonder...
your turn.
aerith i miss you
See? Time's probably my biggest obstacle to any sort of relationship whatsoever. Where Aerith/23 could give up a bit of her anime time, I could never do that. I almost never hang out with my friends outside of school, because I'm either here, or watching anime or reading manga. The other obstacle is that I really don't want a romantic relationship with a 3D guy right now. =P
...And I played Yo-Jin-Bo, which is a "visual novel" romance for girls. I think I fell in love with Ittosai. Honestly.
But it's not like I can tell all my friends "Hey! I have a crush on this character in a dating sim!", because they're somewhat normal gasp. If I ever get asked "out" I think I'm going to act like a total idiot and say "We already are outside." Because I hate turning people down, but I also don't think I could maintain a relationship with someone.
I'm about as oblivious about guys as most of you are about girls. I lied back there. My knowledge of guys comes from Genshiken AND the 4-ch boards XD
>>26
...XDXD Yeah. Overall, we (Being 3D girls) kind of suck sometimes. Maybe not as badly as you make it sound, but yeah. =P
>>28
XDXD
Manga on YouTube?? That's amazing (in a bad way). And yes, I hate those people who depend on YouTube for ALL their anime and manga and whatever. I want to grab them by the neck, shake them and suggest they spend some money on a DVD or book. It's always nice to not be a total leech.
OP here!
thank you guys for so much information!あはははははは!!!
(^_____^)what else is there to say?
maybe this is interesting:
how can an otaku win the heart of a otaku-girl?
do otaku and fujoshi fit?
>>34
Don't expect the girl to be the same as all your hentai characters. Most girls don't really see hentai as an art form, so it's not usually good to strike up a conversation about that. But I hope you knew that =D
Usually, as long as you discuss anime series that are somewhat in the girl's intrests, they'll respond. Read Fruits Basket. Almost 99% of girls have read that series at least, and usually it makes for easy conversation. Don't diss Kyou or Yuki, a lot of girls I've seen swoon over the mere mention of either of the two.
Also, female otaku are kinda unpredictable (Well, more so than most 2D characters). Mood swings abound =D
(Trying to help any otaku who want a female otaku girlfriend by giving insight into my perspective as a girl ^_^)
Yeah, guess so =)
I've never been in love with a 3D guy before (It's really easy for me to spend time with 2D guys obviously XD), so I've never really felt the need to spend time with someone. I'm kinda curious about what that would feel like. Hm.
And don't worry, I'm not anybody but myself =D I would never change myself for someone else, because that would be a hassle =D
Thanks for the advice ^_^
XD I just realized how much this topic is like Densha Otoko
I expect one of you guys to go out and save a girl on the train/subway now =D
>>37
OP here, yes the topic should remind a little of densha otoko, lol.
i just wanted to find out if there are any female otaku that think about a relationship with another otaku, like my gf and me did.
the thread is very interesting rightnow :D thx for so many replies
Female otaku, too.
Most of my friends are otaku, as well.
I'm not bad. I have somewhat of a life, but at most times, everything I do reminds me of one anime or game or manga or another. Since I finally got my laptop, not even two months ago, I've nearly filled my hard drive up. I need to decide what to get rid of (TT___TT It's so hard to decide! I need to keep Kanon 2006, My-HiME and Suzumiya Haruhi. TT__TT).
I went out with another otaku for three months. But he was a total stubborn jerk who said what he thought was better was better, end of story -.- He wouldn't even try watching Higurashi no naku koro ni with me. He also told me to stop being so tsuntsun all the time. Like I could help it! I figure he just wanted me to be the stereotypical moe. But honestly, who is?
He also didn't like it that I didn't care about fanservice. What otaku wants his girlfriend to dislike fanservice? The whole truth is that I find it funny.
I figure sometimes otaku make good boyfriends, sometimes they don't. Don't hold your breath, though. They're probably more interested in Haruhi than you.
Just get a hot chick and turn her onto it. As long as she's not dumb or racist there's always a chance.
>>40
Why get rid of anything? That's what DVD burners are for. My anime archive is slowly approaching 800 DVDs right now.
I'm a little new, so I don't understand how to do the >>42 thing...
Aha, Yeah... no. Unfortunately what little money I do have is spent on figurines and manga. I'm working hard for a Yuki "Day of Sagittarius III" figurine... but I tend to get sidetracked at a trip to the bookstore, and the fact my Genshiken manga collection is falling behind. And, of course there was that $50 spent on Haruhi Special Edition DVD 1... DL is the only way I can keep up with my friends. I'm poor. But my favorite figurine is my first: a Saki collection figure from Genshiken cosplaying. Ahhh~ I love that scene, and my best friend gave it to me. So it's worth all the rest of my collection to me. ^^;
and again, n00b here. >>43
Yeah. Really. Stupid, opinionated, stereotypical, rotten, continues to mumble angrily
>>44
dude, i wanna see pics of the saki figure!!! ploooxx!!
btw, the burning method is easy, just costs u DVD's
>>43
Maybe you needed to make her watch more BL.
It's a cheap little thing. Here, I'll give you a link... http://www.yamatotoysusa.com/YUS%20Web/Page%20Elements/Genshiken/MF/Vol.1/HR/Style6&8.jpg
I really want the Ohno one TT__TT
And Eheh... -is literally dirt poor after the Suzumiya Box sets.- I may just burn them all to CD like my friend does with her series...
>>47
wow wow wow, respect!
seems that we drift offtopic post by post
spoiler: hot girls do not like otaku
Well, I'm a female. I'm an otaku. I'm on topic just by being here ^^;;
>>50
thats kinda true! plus, you're very welcome! haha
>>47
Might be a good idea to save space by burning to DVD instead of CD.
I don't understand why no one believes that my friend waffo and are girls... TT__TT
>>49
My friend was third place prom queen at our school and is going out with an otaku. It's kind of a genshiken situation, I guess you could say... hey, the fact that I'm her friend should say something in itself.
>>52
I can fit 10 eps to a CD vs 3 to a DVD. And CDs are cheaper. -burned Kanon earlier-
umm, how do you manage that? The most I'm able to burn on a CD is 4 eps, while I've burned entire 26ep series to DVD (Full Metal Panic, School Rumble, etc). Are you talking about burning DVD movie versions, perhaps? I meant burning a DVD with regular avis.
>>53 o_O
How do you fit 10 episodes on a CD without horribly recompressing them? A DVD has about 7 times more storage space than a CD.
Ah hah ^^ I'm a bit of a n00b with this computer. And my friend was the one who was telling me what to do to burn them... she's not an otaku, so maybe she doesn't understand the space issue.
hmmm... I guess I'll have to try again with the DVD.
Sorry about the stupidity.
>>55
O_o o_O O_O o_o

Yeah yeah, we get it.
lol guys :(
I can has sage?
did we loose the interest?
>>1
What kind of doujin does your girlfriend draw?
>>65
she drew NGE, Dogs and BLAME! doujins, mostly short stories.
she also did her own manga, i think she called it "girls club" or something.. but she sometimes has no time to continue on them
Flame time!
Cliche is exactly what I'm talking about. Feels the need to defend herself for some reason when someone makes a totally random & indirect post saying "hot girls do not like otaku" (>>49 re: >>53).
And then the whole CD/DVD thing. If you open up google real quick and do a search of "How to burn a DVD", then "Difference between a DVD & CD", bam, knowledge. Do it before you post, you don't have to even mention that you're noob with computers.
That there is a basic concept that any girl I've ever met does not grasp no matter how many times it's driven into them.
Perhaps in this soceity girls do not feel the need to increase their knowledge base because, regardless the second a girl says she watches anime a bunch of equally retarded male anime enthusiasts swon all over her. Perhaps it is a deep-rooted subconcious concept of "Well, it doesn't matter if I don't REALLY know what I'm talking about, they'll still have interest."
Bah.
>>67
you're right somehow....people should use the search-function more often, lol.
"bam, knowledge"
Well I'm a vietnamese 19 yr old guy who loves anime and got into listening to japanese/foreign music becuz of watchign anime, my friend Jefferri (african american) who draws, plays games, read mangas, pretty much an OTAKU turned me into an Otaku (games, mangas, anime..ect). Hes one of my long time best friends too.
I"d like to say... I haven't yet seen any Otaku girls yet but I'm surprised there is alot besides cosplayers. I wouldn't mind an Otaku gf or just a gf who have some kinda of similiar interests that I have.
Kinda' have a problem with storage for my comp too lol Have a external HD 160GB (comp HDD is 80GB {only 74gb is availble}) tried to buy the 1TB but its only 2 500GB put together which lags the transfer of data n shit so i didn't buy unless its 1HD that is 1TB. My comp is shitty too.. 2001 HP 2.2GHZ 1GB ram(added myself) Geforce 7800GS OC 256MB GDDR3 card, tried playing wow with good FPS but my 2.2ghz CPU is limiting my Video Card causing great FPS lag when theres crapload of shit on screen haha.
If any of u guys or gals wants to chat with me on AIM its Alastar969 (damn typo my friends fault) I"m on all teh time if not watching crappy anime cuz can't find any good DL sights or torrents cuz most of the recent animes aren't subbed. Hate watching DMC anime cuz its only spanish sub which sucks cuz the english subs r kinda fucked up.. i catch on few japanese words cuz of my long term anime watching.
We'll I'm glad to here to girls aren't discriminating against Otaku's . Check out my webpage n tell me if i look like a spazz in my picture hahaha!! well Cha Ne!
oh lol.
/me watches the spammers, pranksters, and jerks flocking to Alex's AIM
Actually I"m not getting IMs lol shit I don't really focking know if anyone even reads these forum topics anymore hahah I don't chatting since my 120 friends list shrunk to 20 after 100names was inactive for over 5 years.. n now only 4 name is active on my list n yet no one says shit to me lol I don't chatting for a bit in a room or something. Might as well give out my IP, ISP, Phone #, Address, Social secuirity #, Bank account #, Debit Pin #, Cell phone #, my report cards, and exact coords to my house.... lol
I'm a female otaku. I'd love an otaku boyfriend, but he'd have to be decent looking and we'd have to have more in common than just anime etc.
i'd like a boyfriend who's an otaku mostly cos i'd probly be able to relate to another otaku better than a guy who wasn't one.
>>49, and anyone else who thinks so, hot girls do so like anime! i is preeettttyyy! not like, super-really-wow-incredibly-hot, but i am good looking :) I've met a few other otaku girls who were also good looking.
I bet >>73 is really mainly into anime for the yaoi. :(
>>74 Isn't that usually the case? Had a friend who loved shota and yaoi wondered why her fellow male otaku didn't like her in return. ;x
>>76
I don't like most hentai and I don't like most shota, but since I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion, I have a soft spot for Shinji x Misato shota, but only if it looks gentle and romantic.
Am I ebil? T_T;
nah, not ebil.... that sounds kinda good, if it was gentle and romantic...
>>77
Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson... ――♪ o(゚∀゚o) (o゚∀゚o) (o゚∀゚)o ―― la la lalalalalala♪
hello
Honestly, I always thought a strong percentage of anime nerds in the US were female, if not the majority. US male nerds have got "manlier" things to obsess about, like D&D and their FPS clans. (sigh, well fewer and fewer gamers in this country are considered nerds, it's a good thing)
>>80
heh, cute, but not quite.
Most shota turns me off because it feels like the woman is exploiting the boy, or doing it for some perverse reason that may not be healthy for him. When I watched FLCL, the kiss between Naota and Haruko was really creepy for me for that reason.
But Misato and Shinji are a special case for me. She's a lonely, sad little girl in a woman's body, trying so hard to pretend to be a grown-up. If anything, he's more mature than she is. And I think he cares for her more than Kaji does. He'd be good for her and she'd be good for him. ^_^
Ever seen the original film, "The Graduate?" That was screwy and sad, because Anne Bancroft's character was crazy in sad, bad ways. But this might be different. Or not. I know I'm a weirdo, but I 'ship them. ^_^
It doesn't matter. They all end up asploded in the end.
Where did you met her?
Tokyo-3, of course.
Haven't been here in a while...
I represent the... less pretty of the female otaku XD I'm not going to lie, I could use exercise. And some sun, god I'm pale. I should probably stop chewing my nails too >_>;;
I'm sure there are some "hot" girls who are into anime and stuff... Here, there, somewhere.
I just realized how much I hate "normal" girls. There were some little kids at the camp I went to, and god, they couldn't stop talking about their purses, and OMG their nails, and how rich their parents were. And for some reason, they latched onto me. The freaking otaku, who wears shirts way too big, and has pants that are literally shredding at the bottom of the leg seams. I now give my Haro plushie and my Sumomo plushie a hug goodnight, and thank god they're not normal.
It probably makes me look... odd, but honestly, I wonder why the heck I was born as a girl. Augh.
We love Google. My parents are always asking me how to do this and that with the computer, and usually, all it takes is a quick google. People always ask me where the heck I find all this anime stuff, when all it would take is a quick google...
...Man, I rambled.
I know a whole lot of female otaku that are gaijin. Most are fat and bitchy, but some are nice looking and kind. They kind of span across the entire spectrum.
There are a lot of japanese female otaku too, i chat with some over peercast sometimes.
There used to be a documentary on female otaku by some japanese tv program on youtube. I can't seem to find it now though....
I'll post if i find it.
>>94

Cut that shit out right now.
this thread is sickening indeed...
Okay. Weiiiird stuff.
I've come to you guys, because I don't understand guys anymore than you would girls o_o.
Today, there was a boy (2 years younger I add) in my band class that said "Hi Julie" (My name, =P) everytime he saw me. Then, I was sitting alone, listening to my music, and he wants to listen for a while. So I play Cha-La-Head-Cha-La (KONATA's version for heaven sakes), and he kinda looks at me, and kinda manages a "Oh, that's cool. It's got a nice beat." It feels like he's following me >_>;;
I don't know whether he's trying to hint at something, or if he's just latched onto me because I'm the only girl in band that's not horrifically girly, or what. After all, he's only a freshman in high school, and he's fairly immature.
I might add that I don't like him "that" way, if it helps. And I just met him 4 days ago.
So, what's your opinion, male 4-ch'ers? (and female ones if they've got an opinion)
I feel kind of stupid asking you guys this, but I'm not quite sure what to do. I'm leaning heavily towards ignoring it and pretending I don't notice anything.
>>101
well, he likes you, what can you do about it?
if you don't like him "that" way, i would tell him right away; the problem will be gone :)
>Cha-La-Head-Cha-La (KONATA's version for heaven sakes)
love that song! its the best one on the ED karaoke box :D
>>101
is a 13 year old girl
>>103
Actually I meant that HE was the one who was 2 years younger. You can do the math if you want o.o
But good news.
Apparently, he flirts with just about any girl he can find (Probably because honestly, he's not that cute or anything >>) He's realllly short, probably not even 5 feet, and he's got this really annoying tendency to repeat things like crazy until someone acknowledges that they heard him >>;;
I almost tripped over the sidewalk busting up laughing because he was hitting on another girl who was all o_o;; and >_>;; the whole time.
So, I don't even care anymore. I'm not going to see him that much anyway after this. I kinda started half ignoring him XD
And today, once again, he insisted on listening to my music. ALI PROJECT's Ankoku Tengoku and another favorite of mine, "Uchuu Tetsujin Kyoudain" by Konata =D He had nothing to say about those two.
>>102
YES. Best song ever (Maybe next to Motteke! Sailor Fuku)
>he's got this really annoying tendency to repeat things like crazy until someone acknowledges that they heard him
fuck that
XDXD Yes indeed. I hate telling people that they're annoying when they really are, so I never do... But he's the one I've come close to telling...
Okay. Soooo... Anyone else got any interesting female/male otaku stories?
>>107
What anime do you like except of らき☆すた?
why does it seem that many lady otaku like lucky star btw
I love Higurashi no Naku Koro ni too.
Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, Azumanga Daioh, Full Moon wo Sagashite (Although I liked the manga version a lot better...), .hack//SIGN, Midori Days (Although, I have yet to buy volumes 1 and 2 >_>), Ouran Koukou Host Club, Fruits Basket, Kino no Tabi, Voices of a Distant Star, Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu (I should get around to finishing that one)...
I'm trying to think of ones that I watched and pretty much stayed with. There's a lot that I started, but never finished...
I'm interested in Nanatsuiro Drops (XDXD Yes, I know it's based off an erogame), Bokurano, and Moetan (I know English obviously, but I'm still kinda curious about it) too though... I should go watch some fansubs.
I dunno if I should be saying this in the anime section of the board, but I read a lot more manga than I watch anime XD
>>109
I dunno... I just like it because Konata's living the dream otaku life, and because Miyuki is so moe. ...That sounds kinda creepy coming from a female otaku, but I really do like the characters they deem as the moe one usually XD
I like all the anime and media references too, even if I don't get 99% of them.
I don't know why the general lady otaku would like Lucky Star though, apart from the fact that Kona and everyone else are cute o_o
I don't understand women or men XDXD
Favorite anime, whoops, I forgot Genshiken of all things O_O
Yes, I love that anime to death. I aspire to be like Madarame someday =D
>>110
mostly typical girl anime.
why do you try to be a anime character? thats more like "weeaboo", not "otaku"
Did somebody say "weeaboo?" 'Cause I think I heard someone say "weeaboo."
do you guys think female otaku are rare?! cos i dont.
日本では女otakuはそんなに多くない。
fujoshiと呼ばれる。モテナイしな
↓
Among Japan as for woman otaku it is not many so.
It is called fujoshi. [motenai] it does,
>>116
fujoshi = rotten woman
-> yaoi fangirls
>>105
Have Miko Miko Nurse ready if he asks to listen again. XD
>>115
No, most of wouldn't be considered typical girl anime. In fact, I'm surprised to see a fanservice-heavy anime like Ikkitousen in your list. I would have expected the gratuitous fanboy appeal to drive away most women. Ichigo 100% is by most accounts a middle tier shonen harem/love triangle comedy with a disappointing ending. Is it the first of its genre you have read?
Would any girls here consider themselves fujoshi, going by >>117's definition?
My roommate was an otaku, definately of the weeaboo variety. She had 3 different wallscrolls on her wall, 20 figurines of characters from Tenjou Tenge and Bo-Mei or whatever, her whole bookshelf was manga only (just left her textbooks lying on the ground) and she ate pocky, mochi, and ramone. She also mainly watched stuff like Tenjou Tenge and those other fanservice shows. The first thing she asked me when I moved in there was whether or not I liked ecchi.
(´Д`)
>>119
most female otaku are of the weeaboo variety.
they try hard to be japanese and its very amusing watching them fail.
Female anime fans don't exist. They are all busy sucking men's dicks and making sandwiches, like the bitches should.
>>121 Shut up you sexist! (btw: i am male ;))
Hope you are just trolling around and that this is not your real opinion.
I think some things are being over looked here.
It would be awesome to find a girl pre-configured to like all the same things you do, but almost all the fun in a relationship is learning things from eachother. If that isnt there then you already know the answer to each question you ask.
"Do you like Haruhi?" "Yup",
"Do you like Higurashi?" "Damn skippy" ... ...
"oh thats cool."
Truth is, opposites attract. An otaku male is hevily influenced by what he watches/reads and will tend to treat and act like his favorite character or at least a general likeing to around girls. Since most romatic moments in anime revolve around 2 non-otaku characters, for instance Ranma & Akane, it teaches him how things would/could/should/shouldn't go.
I am not a woman and can't possably speak for one but I have noticed a general trend with them as well. female-otaku also act in this same maner however the characteristics they take on do not revolve around relationships but rather things that make them kawaii/moe. It's certainly related however nowhere near as deep as a male. Female-otaku retain the knowledge about relationships from highschool and not from anime/manga. (In fact alot of the anime/manga they read even revolves around this just as a male's) It kicks in automatically from human nature. They then aim for slightly-otaku or non-otaku guys at all which sometimes leads to trouble or a perfect relationship. It's hit or miss just like so called "normal" people do.
We otaku grow up in our own world then venture out to the "normal" world, relationships with non-otaku work the same way as relationships with people from other countries.
> Since most romatic moments in anime revolve around 2 non-otaku characters, for instance Ranma & Akane, it teaches him how things would/could/should/shouldn't go.
Well, I happen to enjoy Genshiken. So I get most of my behaviour from Sasahara, except that I don't get hard while looking at yaoi pictures of myself.
>>124
again a weeaboo-girl? WHY DO PEOPLE TRY TO ACT LIKE ANIME CHARACTERS???
I made this thread to talk about FEMALE OTAKU not FEMALE WAPANESE
alright? good.
It would be great if the girls/women not only do act like anime-characters, BUT also have their beautiful look :)
But this is impossible though :((
Unfortunetly being otaku is a inharently Japanese behavior, to call anyone wapanese makes you a hypocrite. non-japanese otaku will absorb and act diffrently then Japanese otaku due to culture.
This thread contains so much idiocy, it might just collapse into a black hole of dumb any second now. Keep away!
Yeah, but in real life, I AM Japanese (I know, you won't believe it and I'm just trying to justify the means, whatever.). I always wonder why the heck I wasn't born a guy, and in Japan >_> I really do hate it when people take it overboard though. I hate it when people ask me to say a Japanese word or something, and I do, and then they go repeating it like they're a freaking parrot. I don't take the anime character stuff overboard, I do have my own personality and stuff. But I'm influenced by these characters.
>>115
YAY. I always feel kind of creepy watching and reading this moe stuff where the characters are so darn cute, when I know that they're meant for the seinen population (IE: Strawberry Marshmallow). Ah, and Hayate the Combat Butler Vol. 4 made a few references to Moetan <3<3 (Hayate is walking with a Moetan book in hand, and Nagi comments on how she doesn't think he's going to pass his exam with THAT study guide)
>>125
I think 124's a guy.
Yaoi pictures of MYSELF
123 Pretty much summed a lot of it up.
>>125
I think there's a difference between trying to act like an anime character, and just plain acting like an anime character unconsciously.
>>130
There is a difference. One is deliberate and the other? Not so much.
I'll admit, I find myself acting a lot like various characters out of manga, anime, and video games I take in.
It's not deliberate, but just something that kind of happens.
We see something, like a few lines or so we like, and we emulate them and incorporate it into our daily speech.
Now acting in ways that we have no business doing...
