So guys... do you guys know many femal Otaku?
Do you even date one??
I got a otaku-girlfriend, she also draws doujinshi.
Shes more like a doujin-otaku.
I'm an Anime, Manga & Game Otaku.
What Otaku-types match the most?? i really wonder...
your turn.

???????????
My mistake was Media Blasters not Seven Seas who does Fujoshi Rumi

Sorry to be commenting on a post so far back but I just found this thread.
I always considered a "Japanophile" to be someone who, like a xenophile does with foreign cultures in general, enjoys Japanese culture.
I don't know, it's difficult for me to define where I would fit (weeaboo, otaku, Japanophile, et cetera) because I like Japanese culture and have been studying Japanese for several years. In addition to this I do enjoy anime and manga, but I wouldn't lose my interest in Japan without these. However, my interest in anime does take up quite a bit of time for me...
>>301
I sincerely dislike yaoi and I'm female. I don't know if I qualify as an otaku, but I would say that I do because of how much I do enjoy anime and manga. To each his/her own, right? I don't find yaoi thrilling in the least.
Maybe it makes us a terrible person to assume every guy likes Yuri
Most of them are narutards.
They seem to be more interested in slash than their actual battles
True...
Angelic Layer was not good enough without having ample slash ideas
I've yet to meet a female otaku that isn't an uninformed moron.
There are some exceptions at least thought Sen is actually another
I have yet to meet other otaku at all.
Consider that your luck since otaku are horrible to meet in person
>>343
it depends on what type and how "tough" those otakus are...
most otakus that i meet doesn't think they are otaku or even don't know they are otaku..
Perhaps they know being called an otaku was an abysmally bad thing
>>346
QFT.
The people who most commonly and casually use "otaku" to describe themselves are usually not otaku, but neophytes who think it's a cool Japanese term for "anime fan." Fans who know enough about the Japanese language and culture to know that the term is profoundly not one of respect either:
Accept their position as social outcasts with pride, and embrace the term (these are the *true otaku).
*Prefer to avoid the association, and therefore don't identify with the term (some of these might be considered closet otaku).
>>347
Damn I've got to get used to WakabaMark and stop using asterisks as bullet points.
Otaku no Video should have taught people why being one is terrible
>>350
Part of the problem is that the vast majority of people who self-describe as "otaku" these days have never heard of, let alone seen Otaku no Video.
We could blame Genshiken in deluding people with that otaku aspect
My girlfriend is an otaku, in the sense of a girl alienated from normal society and that likes anime and manga more than the average follower.
She is batshit insane, and I love her for that
Some batshit insane people happen to make the most endearing wives
There are many batshit insane people around but mine is very sweet
I'm female and a complete Otaku, and perhaps even future NEET. If I don't read manga, I play N64 or NES or even my Atari, vintage consoles are the best. I can be compared to most males, except I do like yaoi, a little but, but not very much anymore, it was worse when I was younger. I used to be a batshit fangirl, which is a little bit weird for e to say about myself, but it's true. I prefer reading hetero hentai or lesbian hentai over yaoi now, just because It's my current preference.
My ex was also an Otaku. I remember he used to draw a lot of Lucky Star fan art, and bought a Lucky Star Uniform and made me dye my hair lavendar so I could roleplay as Tsukasa in bed, actually, if you ask me, that was a little bit disturbing. I think I dumped him shortly after that. My current boyfriend is also an Otaku but a lot less strange with his fetishes. His main fetish is feet, so he does my nails a lot, which I don't mind, the weirdest thing he ever did was just painting little Asukas on my toe nails...but it was cute.
what i've noticed from female otaku is that they're mostly bat-shit insane because they try to fill a gigantic hole in their lives with anime and they take the dojiko(sp?)-moe factor to the nth level. they also smell funny. usually from alcohol or the lack of bathing
Your boyfriend must be a great otaku his odd fetishes withstanding
>>359
reading the first 2 sentences, you seem to be very proud of being unemployed and bored to death.
you fill that hole with anime and manga and you are lazy?
2nd off: there are no complete otaku outside of japan.
You should give that anon a break taking her time to write stories
There are only complete weeaboos among socially inept anime people
We have yet to see a female otaku that has balanced weeaboo traits
And one thats not fat as fuck.
Seriously, theres way too many fatties amongst the anime fanbase. Where's your self-respect? Being fat is unhealthy and ugly. You should feel ashamed of yourself for letting yourself go.
They should be slim like those characters they stay obsessed about
>>368-369
Agreed.....Hey....you know what...those characters can make some sort of motivation what......XD!
Ganbatte! Go Slim!! Jiayou!
Wait...that's Chinese...=.=.....
Some people really hate Real Drive over not having slim characters
>>371
I, for one, welcome our chubby overlords.
Perhaps those hated them are self conscious about their own weight
It is sad to see overweight people sometimes...I mean, it's not about it being un-attractive to most people, but also because they are prone to so many horrible diseases and health problems. However it's not totally untrue that they can't be cute or handsome being a little pudgy, but when it gets to be majorly bad, then it's just sad, and really shows alot about how much the person really cares about things.
They should change knowing it reinforces the overweight otaku idea
Weight is an issue even outside the anime community. It's just a shame that the common stereotype has become that of an overweight geek, often wearing glasses, often male etc. But you can't change yourself for an outside reason. You have to want to do it yourself. Which is a pain.
I'm quite socially inept, myself, and I really don't like the thought of walking into a gym amongst all these other superfit people and ask for a gym card. I can just imagine them looking at me, scrutinising me, laughing at me when I can barely run nonstop for five minutes and they've been running for an hour. And I'm not even fat. Just physically unfit. So for someone who is overweight, it must be a lot worse. It's just a case of whether the will to get fit is greater than the fear of being scrutinised. For me, the fear is much greater and I remain at my computer, happily immersing myself in manga. And life is good and safe and not scary. Until I have to answer the telephone.
>>334
You do. You just don't know it yet.
>>341
I'm actually another what? Uninformed moron?
Hmm. Entirely possible, I guess. I mean, until someone corrects you, you don't actually know that you're wrong/uninformed about something. To be honest. If you're not calling me an uninformed moron, awesome. If you are, correct me so I don't make the same uninformed, stupid comment in the future.
Did that make any sense? I think half way through it became a ramble.
Not only ramble but personal details that must need the compliment
>>377
I sense sarcasm.
I was actually trying to make a point.. And I really wasn't giving out that many personal details. Just trying to express my view by using an analogy. Sorry. Won't happen again. ¬_¬
Oh, and for the record, I meant I was rambling in the last bit. I thought my first point was actually quite coherent. Obviously not.
You mean writing down personal insight would have counted rambling
Ok, now why I think this conversation gets nearer and nearer to a flame war? Please stay cool...
How could one take what any complete stranger has wrote seriously?
>>381
Actually some people did and I knew one....
Whoever has believed posting details about themselves online works
¬_¬ I can't even be bothered to get into this.
I'm sorry. I was trying to empathise with someone who is overweight. I was trying to get you guys to empathise with someone who is overweight, instead of being rude and insulting about them. Obviously, it was a failure and I really didn't want to start a verbal assault over it. So can we all just leave it and just move on, please?
You were bothered enough to write those details in the first place
My girlfriend is an otaku. We plan on moving to Akihabara soon...
...
I hope she doesn't get raped.
Jesus, are you still posting here? Why? No one likes you.
Anyways, I'm sort of friends with the most amazing female otaku ever. She has more porn and h-games than I do, a Haruhi full-body pillow that she sleeps with, and is a borderline hikki. I want to marry her.
Otaku girlfriend's boyfriend here. She's big on Touhou and Tsukihime, but she doesn't read very much doujin. She's also totally gay for Minorin. Compared to most other female otaku around here (who tend to be immense Narutards, slow, mallgoths or etc) she's actually fairly educated in deeper otaku culture. She's sort-of reluctant to use forums/boards though, but she browses /cgl/ occasionally.
Also, I was planning on buying her a Figma Miku, But I've been beat out by pre-order quotas ;_;
It must be divine luck when she has more porn and h-games than you
>>1
This specimen is the stereotypical fat ugly weeaboo "KAWAII KAWAII SUGOI SUGOI" yaoi-loving queen-bitch.
Would have avoided her like the plague if I wasnt such a loser.
I'm on antidepressants now.
No good can come from looking at the bottom of the junk pile.
Yaoi support compensates whatever positive trait they already have
Otaku girls are much more interesting than the guys in my opinion, or at least the ones I've met. I actually learned about this place from an otaku chick >.> Idk, it just seems the guys don't talk about anime as much as the women do. It might be different elsewhere, but so far, most otakus I've met are spastic or lethargic women (not that either is a bad thing).
You would be surprised either one have given each other a bad name
Maybe the same otaku is okay.
So, you will have ton of topics to talk.
Casual people into anime could make better conversations sometimes
Anyone ever run into a Female Narutard? You know, the ones who are obsessed with either Itachi or Sasuke, and they only know the anime that has appeared on Adult Swim, or barely anything else, they always cosplay Naruto chars, and call themselves "otaku" all the time, their pronounciation usually is horrible, and they usually appear at US anime cons?! Or how about the people who are always making their own fan made drawings and dolls possibly in weird pictures that they fantisized about or a million other nerdy narutard wannabe otaku girls? XD I go to a con called SacAnime, and that place is FULL of atrocities.
You have well explained reasons why those ruin IRC rooms and clubs
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=U2twmwNLaVc
I watched
this scene was very interesting
You could have linked Chinpokomon instead over that cool statement
http://idoldb.gantz.jp/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/wpid-1dvuma119pl.jpg
she is very cute otaku.u might like her
>>401 I HATE YOU AND I WANT YOU TO DIE
Your porn taste is appalling but at least you did not choose genki
What's genki?
Daikichi Amano porn universe movies with insects sometimes animals
>>402
I concur with that statement. Nine hundred thousand times.
>>406
Damn I forgot to sage. Sorry everyone.
Not even sage over nine thousand could spare people with anon link
I know few female otaku... they don't actually look bad, but they're either yaoi-biatches or sasuke/itachi/whoever narutards... or both... and yeah, mustn't forget those visual-kei dressed-in-the-darkest-tones-of-black girls..
I'm an anime, manga, game otaku (female) and I'm going out with a guy that's the same. But most of my otaku friends are guys. In fact, most of my friends are guys...
Yeah most girl Otakus I know are Yaoi fans too. While I am fine
with someone liking that, I'd really wish they wouldn't flaunt
it about so much. I really don't care who their favorite pairing
is, much less why, and just because I am female myself it
doesn't automaticly mean I like Yaoi too. In fact, it rather
turns me off.
Nice that you have gone against weird stereotypes over liking yaoi
My girlfriend has yet to watch Kannagi 12 and 13... I want to talk to her about it soooo much but I don't want to spoil it for her.
We only talk about anime, cosplay, visual novels and the like with each-other, save for this other guy we know who has this crazy infatuation with Pokemon, which I respect because he isn't one of those scenester fags who just wear Pokemon shirts for the retro cred. But even then, we just talk about video games with him.
Recently she's gotten me into Tower of Druaga and Hayate no Gotoku. I'm recommending Kara no Kyoukai to her like mad but she's yet to torrent it.
We had plenty of those back when I used to live up in Illinois. They look okay, they just have to stop wearing black all the time and obtain better taste in anime, I think.
She must be open minded when she saw Gonzo series without complain
They're okay. We notice inconsistencies in animation, but It's not nearly as bad as say, Welcome to the NHK. QUALITY up the ass in that, crikey.
Make her read the superior novel not the otaku laden anime version
From what I can tell, quite a few females of african american descent like anime and manga, but they keep it secret and hidden like mad. Not quite otaku, but I feel the situation is rather curious.
My best friend is an anime-manga-game otaku, hot as fuck, hates yaoi, and is a fellow 4-ch lurker, but alas, I friend-zoned(mild to no benefits).
I know a few female otakus, only one being of the "OMGG L R TEH SEX!!1!" narutard sect. The rest are cash.
I am a secret female otaku.
Cosmetician by day, absolute nerd at night.
ITT: SO RONERY.....
I've met a few female otakus in an Anime Club back in high school but never talked to them as much as I can remember. I can't say whether or not I'm an otaku too but I do like Anime, Manga, and all kinds Japanese related.
If I meet one, I'll be sure to let you know...
As far as I can tell, 90% of the female otaku around my area are "vampire otaku".
I've been tempted so many times to use the "We already have a Twilight anime. It's called "Vampire Knight" line.
And of course, along with the vampire gothic obsession comes the Death Note obsession. The live action Death Note movie in my theater was a nightmare.
"OMG L is eating. He's eating. KAWAIIIIII! OMG He's eating AGAIN."
There's a few female otaku I know that are really cool and very "Hey, even though I like yaoi, I'm not going to force it on you.", but generally, it seems the words "Vampire" and "Gothic" can describe my area.
There are a lot of otaku girls.
But most of them just stupid bitch and attention whores. Well, it is common description for any woman. You shouldn't expect some kind of mentality improvement just because she is anime fan.
define otaku.
I know many girls (and am one) who are into anime and/or manga, but aren't over the top obsessed with it.
That's the best type. One who likes and respects it, but doesn't make it a lifestyle.
Fat weeaboo bitches. Yeah, I see them all the time. I'd rather not talk to them or stand anywhere near them though.
whores
>>425
Yeah I wouldn't date a girl who made me call her waifu-san. or som shi
But that's something you don't need to worry about, because you'll never date a girl.
I am a female otaku thank you!!! As in anime/ manga/ gamer!
And I am very proud of it!!! World of Warcraft isn't only for guys thx!!!
=^.^=
